A little girl sits on a swaying swing, the sun setting behind her. A frown was on her face as she kicked the dirt with her toe. She looks up at the darkening sky and lets out a sigh.
A boy, no older than 14 walks down the darkening streets. His shoulders droop in exhaustion and he lets out a sigh as looks up at the sky, a few stars already starting to show.
He stops in his tracks when he feels a small chakra signature at the park. He takes note that it could possibly be a child and it's getting dark out. He frowns in worry, no child should be out this late.
He quickly makes a turn to the park and sees a little girl sitting on a swing, looking up at the sky. Silently, he walks towards the little girl, taking note of the frown on her face and sits on the swing next to her.
The girl looks straight at the boy, the frown ever present on her face and asks, "Shinobi-san, what are you doing at a children's park?" Electric green eyes look straight into his onyx eyes.
"I was wondering the same thing, it's much to late for someone to be at the park."
"I guess that's true," the girl says. The boy thinks that this girl is much too mature for her age, however he was very similar at that age. Living in the world of ninja, many kids are forced to grow up fast.
A long pause and than the girl speaks again, looking out into the distance, "You are probably wondering where my parents are. They are out of the village right now. It's not very uncommon for me to be home alone for quite a few days."
The boy frowns and stands up, reaching out his hand for her to grab, "Come on, let me walk you home before it gets to late, you must be getting tired."
"I don't want to go home. I don't like being alone," the girl looks away from the boy is shame.
The boy stands there in contemplation for a second, "How about you stay at house for tonight? I don't think my Kaa-san or otouto would mind."
"I can't go home with a stranger. I don't even know your name, Shinobi-san."
The boy smiles, "It's Uchiha Itachi."
"Haruno Sakura."
"Okay, Sakura-chan, let's hurry to my house and eat some dinner," Itachi says, once again giving his hand out for her to grab.
Sakura gives a ghost of a smile and grabs his hand, "Okay, Itachi-kun."
Entering into the compound, the streets becomes brighter with the lights and Itachi can finally see how truly bright Sakura's hair is. A strange combination, he thinks, pink hair and green eyes.
A few Uchiha clan members still on the streets, give the two weird looks but know better than to ask questions. Both Sakura and Itachi take note of this.
It's not much longer and they arrive at Itachi's house. They enter the house and quietly take of there shoes. Itachi leads Sakura down a hall way and towards the kitchen. When they enter the kitchen, Itachi says "Kaa-san, I'm home," gaining her attention.
She turns around from cooking and smiles at Itachi, "Welcome home Itachi!" She then takes notice of the girl standing next to him and a shocked expression crosses her face, "Itachi, dear, who is this?"
"Kaa-san, this is Haruno Sakura. Her parents are out of the village right now and she doesn't want to stay home alone." Sakura's grip on Itachi tightens a little and she looks up at him.
