OLIVIA TAPPED HER FOOT anxiously in the dark waiting for this so called 'vanya' to show up as both her and five sat in the mysterious ladies apartment. "aren't we going to startle her when she shows up?" olivia asked with her eyebrows raised, "i don't want to make a bad impression.." olivia frowned slightly at the thought of making a bad impression and getting told to leave and never come back. "calm down, it'll be fine" five responded fixing his tie. olivia was about to respond with a snarky comment until she heard a lock click and the hinges of the front door creak. olivia's head snapped towards the door as five turned on a lamp that was next to the chair that he was sitting in.

"jesus!" vanya said clearly startled at the twos presence. olivia muttered a quiet. "told you.." that was only loud enough for five to hear, but he just ignored it. "you should have locks on your windows." five stated matter a factly. "i live on the second floor." vanya replied looking between them. "rapists can climb." five responded simply. vanya stopped for second before proceeding to close her front door, "you guys are so weird." vanya got a closer look at five, "is that blood?" "it's nothing." he brushed off while olivia mentally hit herself for not noticing the obvious blood on his arm. vanya sighed while glancing at olivia. "why are you guys here?" olivia decided that it was better to let five do all the talking since he had planned on coming here in the first place. "i decided you're the only one, besides liv, that i can trust." five said glancing over at olivia as she quietly sat and stared at the two curiously. "why me?" vanya asked sounding exhausted. "because you're ordinary." five answered somewhat rudely before correcting himself. "because you'll listen." olivia's eyes continued to flicker between the two as they talked. olivia also wanted to know what was going on, why she was even here, and why she was one of the two people that five trusted, even though they just met. "okay." vanya gave in listening to what it was that was so important that he broke into her apartment with a girl she's never seen before.

five inhaled sharply before continuing. "when i jumped forward and got stuck in the future, do you know what i found?" 'future? what the hell is going on?' olivia asked herself, furrowing her brows in confusion. "no." vanya stated simply waiting for five to explain himself. "nothing. absolutely nothing." 'nothing? what does he mean by that?' "as far as i could tell, i was the last person left alive...i never found out what killed the human race, but i did find something else." both olivia and vanya were listening to the words that were rolling off fives tongue, making sure that they heard every syllable so they wouldn't miss anything. "..the date it happens." he continued sadly. "the world ends in eight days, and i have no idea how to stop." olivia's bit her lip as she sat shocked, she repeated fives words over and over again in her head trying to grasp it. this is the type of thing that only ever happens in her imaginative stories and she wasn't one hundred percent sure that she wasn't in the comfort of her blankets dreaming. olivia then proceeded to pinch herself making her wince quietly, this caused fives eyes to snap towards the red head protectively to see if she was okay. "i'll put on a pot of coffee." vanya told the two as she got up from her spot on the couch by olivia and made her way over to the kitchen. "why'd you pinch yourself?" five asked olivia concerned. "i wanted to make sure i wasn't trapped in one of my stories.."

olivia, five, and vanya sat with cups of coffee in their hands. five was currently talking about his experience in the horrendous future that was soon to come. "i survived on scraps. canned food, cockroaches, anything i could find." five let out a humorless laugh and went on with his stories. "you know that rumor that twinkies have an endless shelf life?" olivia nodded her head slowly puzzled. "well, it's total bullshit." olivia made a disgusted face thinking about what it would be like eating a rotten twinkie. "i can't even imagine." vanya said in shock. "you do whatever it takes to survive. or you die. so we adapted." 'we? i thought he was the last person left alive?' olivia wondered. "whatever the world threw at us, we found a way to overcome it." 'if he wasn't alone, then who the hell was he with.' olivia was having an extremely hard time processing what five was saying but she knew she believed him. "we?" vanya asked as if she was reading olivia's thoughts, olivia nodded to show that she also wanted to know who this other person was. "do you have anything stronger?" five asked vanya implying that he wanted some alcohol which vanya picked up on. vanya made her towards her kitchen again to fulfill fives request. they were all standing now as five took a sip of his alcoholic drink.

five stared at both vanya and olivia for a second seeing the confusion written on their faces. "you guys think i'm crazy." this caused olivia to shake her head vigorously almost giving herself a headache. "no." vanya stammering now. "it's just a lot to take in." olivia nodded lightly speaking up for the first time in the whole time she was there. "last i checked i was drinking tea and writing as always, and now i'm getting told that the world is ending in eight days..." olivia trailed off sadly. five flinched at the sight of olivia being so sad wondering if it was wrong of him to bring her into his mess of a life. five sighed before looking back towards vanya. "exactly what don't you understand?"
"why didn't you just time travel back?" vanya asked rather stupidly in olivia's opinion. five scoffed and sighed once again. "gee, wish I'd thought of that." five retorted sarcastically.
"time travel is a crapshoot. i went into the ice and never acorn-ed." olivia didn't understand what he meant by this, but continued listening nonetheless. "you think i didn't try everything i could to get back to my family?" this hurt olivia on personal level, she missed her family and if anyone knew about what it was like being lonely, it was her.

"if you grew old, you know in the apocalypse, why do you still look like a kid?" five scoffed in annoyance for what felt like the hundredth time that day. "i told you already." five answered walking away from the two girls to poor himself another drink, both vanya and olivia's eyes followed him as he stopped in the kitchen. five sighed again. "i must have got the equations wrong." vanya shuffled uncomfortably. "i mean, dad always said that time travel could mess up your mind." five was pouring his drink as she talked and olivia glanced over at vanya shocked and annoyed at her words. "..well maybe that's what's happening." vanya said lightly. "this was a mistake." five blurted. "you're too you young, too naive to understand." five grabbed olivia's wrist again about to lead her out the door when vanya stopped them. "no, five wait." vanya let out a sigh as five turned back around letting go of olivia's wrist. olivia found herself sad at the lack of warmth around her wrist from fives hand, but she shook it off. "i haven't seen you in a long time, and i don't want to lose you again..that's all." vanya told him frowning. "and you know what it's getting late, and i have lessons early, and i need sleep. and i'm sure you two do too." vanya walked over to the couch fixing a few blankets. "here. we can talk again in the morning, okay? i promise." five nodded and vanya muttered to the two. "night." olivia looked at five as five responded to vanya. "night."

five and olivia sat next to each other staring at the glass eye in his hand. five had explained that whoever owns the eye most likely caused the apocalypse. a few minutes pasted and olivia was now flipping through her pages of her journal reading some of her old sad stories and before she knew it her eyes started to get heavy. she unintentionally leaned her head onto fives shoulder and drifted off to sleep. five closed her journal and put the prosthetic eye back into his pocket deciding to get at least a few hours of sleep before setting out to find the owner of the eye in attempt to stop the apocalypse.
