JADE POV

I finally clean off everything as Sam take his spot at the counter sinking into the squeaky chair.

I groan to myself as I text Katie trying to get details from me about the breakup the most interesting thing to hit this town since I entered high school so am not so smart big whoop.

So I guess the bastard finally left uh?
I hear Sam beside me chewing on his gum, his bright blue coloured hair and brown eyes twinkling.

I crack him a smile, yes Sammy were finally free I wink.

Thank God he groans rolling his eyes I was tired of him checking out my ass, he smirks looking around the supermarket with some people roaming around.

I laugh attracting a look from Holly who is helping an old lady find the milk station and it seems like she's getting an earful from the lady.

Not everyone is gay Sam, I eye him, were in the same age group, school and both seniors at our only high school in this small town.

I laugh as 5 people walk towards us with their carts, slightly eyeing each other, maybe competing with who will be here first.

Am just glad he's gone I shrug, leaning over my station to his.

Yea, he was a douchebag he says bluntly as a bald man with a beer belly reach him first.

I smile when a middle age women stops in front of me as I scan her items, they are a lot.

That would be 30$ I tell the woman.

She stares at me shocked she got that much, she sighs digging into her wallet, I roll my eyes if you know you did not want to spend so much why did you pick up so much.

She hands me the money and I pack up her things watching her go.

So how is your mother? Holly finally says when she's done with the old lady coming behind me, her dark hair in a pixie cut with bright blue eyes

She's not fine but she will be, I say eyeing the girl who just bought 3 pregnancy test, I raise a brow not actually judging her trust me I've had a scare before.

She fidgets under my gaze and wrap up the boxes in a brown paper bag, handing it to her, I recognise her from school but I don't say a thing.

She immediately leaves sending me scared look.

I turn to the next person.

Am just glad that bastard is gone he was eating her up, he always emptied the alcohol when he came here, I don't know how she handled it, Holly shakes her head, disgust evident on her face

Maybe he had a good hmmm, Sam wiggles his brows at me with a laugh making Holly laugh along, I wince along with the man who just handed me his money.

I don't think I want to hear about my father's...argh I shudder, realising I have no one else in the line.

They continue to laugh, as Katie walks through the door in a tiger skinned fur top and dark lose denim shorts and boots, were a weird bunch, Katie is the bad ass nerd, Sam is the sassy gay one, Holly does not go to our school but is still a close friend, she's the responsible one and am the party girl if you've not noticed yet cliché of us but we love it

Katie slides into my side throwing herself across the counter, hey babes!!!

I laugh slapping her bum, were really just normal people with normal lives, a little crazy sometimes but were okay.
