Part 2 June 24, 2017
It was a warm summer's afternoon, and the woman was sitting in the screened in porch around the table sipping on refreshing drinks and reminiscing about the last six years and how all their lives had changed. Little Liam was sitting on his mother's lap and drinking her sparkling water. It was getting close to dinner time when Lucas came into the porch and snuggled up against his mother. Rory looked down at her eldest son and put her arm around his shoulder kissing the top of his head. Liam looked at his brother, scowled and started to push him away.
"My mama," Liam said pushing him.
"Liam stop," Lucas whined.
"Liam. Leave your brother alone. That isn't a nice thing to do," Rory said sternly.
Liam looked at his mother and put his head against her chest. He knew he was in trouble when his mother used that tone of voice with him.
"Come here Liam and sit with me," Lorelai said reaching out to him. He looked at his brother who was still leaning against his mother and then at his mother's face. He shook his head no and sat up and took another drink from her glass.
"Lucas sweetie what's the matter?" Rory asked him. She ran her hand over his head and noticed that his hair and head were sweaty, and he looked tired.
" Lukie, are you hungry or thirsty? Would you like something to drink?"
"I'm hungry. Mama can I have a bikkie?" he asked her.
She looked over at the outdoor clock and thermometer that they had hanging on the house and noticed it was four o'clock. She should tell Finn to get the food on the grill. She wasn't sure how long it would take, but the experience of a mother these last five years taught her not to let her boys miss a meal. They were part Gilmore and needed to eat on time, or there would be miserable for the rest of the day. She reached across the table and handed him a cookie that Amanda had made. She then wrapped two other cookies in a napkin and said, "Here is your bikkie and bring these out for your cousins."
"Thank you, Mama," he said as he turned to go back outside.
"Hold on Mister, where's my kiss?" She said giving him a big smile.
He turned and smirked at her and walked back. She leaned down, and he kissed her on the lips. He then went running out the door slamming the screen door behind him.
"Me bikkie too, Mama?" Liam said.
"Kiss first," she told him.
Liam put his hands around her neck and gave her a sloppy kiss on her lips.
"You are a little rugrat," she told him, and he giggled.
She handed him a cookie then stood up and put Liam on the chair that she was sitting on. "Liam stay here with your Aunties and grandmothers. I will be right back."
"Nooo. Me come," Liam whined.
"No sweetie, I need to talk to your father. I promise I will be right back. "
Rory kissed him on the top of his head and then walked through the house and out to the open deck where the men were talking. The men were enjoying the warm afternoon, relaxing and talking while they drank their beers. Angus had one twin on his lap, and Finn had the other. Lucas was sitting on his Pop Pop's lap eating his cookie.
As Rory walked over to where Finn was sitting, she noticed that the baby monitor lit up and she could see their daughter moving around making babbling sounds. Suddenly they heard Conrad crying in the pack in play that was in their bedroom.
