Jealousy and Jerks

"What was that back there," Richard asked about the previous incident in the classroom. They took their seat with their lunch at an outside bench. The day was warm with a breeze, it was the perfect day to eat outside.

Gar took a bite of his apple "I don't know" he paused. "She's fun to irritate" he slightly laughed. Richard raised a brow not understanding the situation. Gar rolled his eyes "She's interesting"

"Interesting?" Richard's voice confirmed. "You sound like you like her."

Gar laughed "Me? Like that girl? That won't happen he waved his hand in denial. "What I mean it she's fun to waste time on and tease." Richard did not look too convinced "Did you see the way she clenched her fists and scrunched her nose in anger" He burst out laughing. "Now that's entertainment"

Richard shook his head "We have been friends a long time Gar but it's the first time I've seen you want to bully a girl for your enjoyment." he patted his shoulder and sighed "It sounds like you like her or you want to bully her?"

Gar flew his head back and laughed "HA, I bully someone? That's Highschool stuff. I'd hardly call it that." he caught his breath from laughing "It's more like... teasing her for my enjoyment"

Raven sat at the window seat of the cafeteria with Kori. "What a Jerk, that's what I meant when I said he was not my friend" She was too angry to even eat. First, he acts like a goody good, then turns into a fake, and to top it off he does that in class. Raven was furious and the last thing she wanted was rumors.

"Please eat Raven, you will be sick if you do not" Kori was concerned. Raven looked at Kori and took a bite of her sandwich to satisfy her. "Besides he might like you" she giggled.

Raven choked on her food "WH- WHAT KORI?" She wiped a tear from her eye. "Where did you get a ridiculous idea like that in your head." She swore Kori came up with the most ridiculous ideas sometimes. Kori smiled "He is doing the teasing like an immature schoolboy yes?" she questioned.

Raven laughed lightly "No Kori he was just being a jerk"

Raven was on her way out of the school building after all her classes to her part-time job. She worked at a small cafe 20 minutes away so she could walk there. The boss treated her well and paid her well, it helped out a lot with her tuition. She placed her headphones in her ears and turned on her music. She loved to listen to music as she walked, it seemed to drain out the world around her.

"Hey, Gar" Richard nudged him "Isn't that the girl from class this morning" he pointed to Raven walking in the distance. Gar's face formed into a smirk.

He turned his head in her direction. "She's no different like she said" He scoffed to himself. "Okay I'll catch you later" he waved goodbye to Richard and ran towards her. This was going to be fun he thought as he caught up a few feet behind her. "Rae" he called. When she did not answer he tried again a bit louder. "Raeee" He called again in a playful tone. He tried to peak around to see her face but he noticed her wearing headphones. He continued to follow her at a distance. Her black hair swayed slowly back and forth sometimes revealing her neck. Her steps seemed to follow the beat of a song but she paced them so you could not notice it at first glance. He continued to follow. "Where is she going?" he mumbled. Then she stopped. She did not turn around but Gar felt his heart drop at the thought that she found out he had been following her a good 15 minutes. Instead, she took out her headphones and placed the phone to her ear.

"What?" she asked standing, her voice irritated. "I don't have much, I gave you all I had last time. I have to pay for school." Her voice cracked causing Gar to have a twinge of concern. He was curious about the person on the other end of the line. He could see her head slightly drop causing her hair to fall to the side of her face. She stood with a long pause of silence. her voice sounded different. He wanted to step forward and see her face but she lifted her head to the sky and her hand dropped to her side clutching her phone tightly. He could hear the person on the phone yell for her attention. She lifted it back to her ear. "I'm not coming home for fall break" she hung up the phone and continued walking.
