Adam and Clara walk into his house, Adam carrying all her heavy boxes into the living room. Most of the things that Clara brought with her after moving out of her apartment were books, clothes, and photos of her family. Lauren had moved into Nathan's place, taking some things that were of value to her, such as decorations, plates, and her belongings.

"Are you sure that this is a good idea?" Clara asks, Adam setting down the last box on the floor, his living room now filled with cardboard boxes of books, pictures, and some of Clara's clothes that she couldn't fit into her suitcases.

"It's the best idea I've had in a long time," Adam says, sitting down on the couch, Clara sitting down beside him. Clara lies her head on Adam's shoulder, Adam holding her close to him, "We can take care of all these boxes later."

Clara takes a deep breath, turning her head to face Adam. Adam, facing Clara, kisses her softly, Clara's eyes closing, thinking about how their future will turn out. All she can vision is that they'll have a long, happy life together

Adam knew exactly what he was going to do at that moment. He knew that he had to go out and buy an engagement ring, with the help of Hannah and Lauren. They knew her style more than anyone, and they would be able to help pick out the perfect ring for Clara.

Walking up to the doorstep of Elizabeth's house, Adam's heart began to race faster than it ever did in his life. He tried rehearsing exactly what he wanted to say for a few weeks, but nothing was sounding right to him. He felt that after a while, just winging it would be easier than just rehearsing a script.

"Adam," Elizabeth says, surprised to see him at her doorstep, "Come on in. Is Clara with you?"

"No, she's not with me, but I had something important to ask you and Nathan," Adam says, Nathan walking downstairs, a confused look on his face. Nathan usually is with Elizabeth at her house around this time, as she is the perfect rest stop for him before he goes to work.

"What is it?" Nathan asks, walking to stand next to Elizabeth. Adam had no idea how to say exactly what he wanted, but he was prepared more than he thought.

"I want to marry Clara," Adam says bluntly, both Nathan and Elizabeth shocked at how quick Adam spoke. Adam didn't know what else to say, taking a deep breath, "Do I have your permission to ask her to marry me?"

The silence in the room killed Adam. He could've heard a pin drop. All he could do was stare at both Nathan and Elizabeth, the two of them looking at one another, trying to figure out what to say. After a minute of silence, both Nathan and Elizabeth smile.

"Yes, you have our blessing," Nathan says, embracing Adam in a hug, Elizabeth wrapping her arms around them. Everything that Elizabeth wanted for her daughter was right there in the room - people who love her unconditionally, "Congratulations!"

"Well, I haven't proposed yet," Adam says, laughing. After a while, he realizes that he wants to propose to her immediately, "But I'm going to right now."

Adam went running out of Elizabeth's house, Nathan wrapping his arm around his mother, the two of them watching Adam gleefully running to his car. Nathan was happy that his sister had found someone that loved her for her, instead of her profession, her looks, or the fact that she would've been giving free tattoos to a boyfriend. He knew that Adam actually cared about Clara and would do anything to make sure that she was taken care of.

"I told you they'd get married," Nathan says, a smile running across his face. Elizabeth chuckles lightly, turning her head to look at her son.

"And it seems that you're right," Elizabeth turns to see Adam's car racing away, turning out of the neighborhood, towards the direction where the tattoo shop is located.
