Jack was the first to come out of the stupor. He lunged for the other seat, underwhich were his and Lian's swords.
He hurled the first sword to Lian quickly and handed the second to May while he leaned his head out of the carriage to talk to the driver
"How far are we?"
"An hour's drive from our destination, your highness."
"Go as fast as you can without putting us in danger. Hurry!"
He pulled himself back into carrige and grabbed May, embracing her tightly. May was shaking. He kissed the top of her head and stroked her hair. The sword clattered to the ground
He had seen what the danger was. They both had.
Riding hard behind them were about five or six rideres dresses in all black. On the neck of the lead horse hung a sign that said, 'sacrifice Princess May and you shall live.'
Night began to fall as the carrige and the horses rode fast through the roads. Abouy 50 minutes later the gate of Philip's kingdom came into view. May could here the pleas for help.
Jack's father: Kidnappers! Send aid!
Lian:; Help! Help, it's a coup!
Carriage driver: Aaaahhhhhh!
Mercifully a small band of guards who had been on duty heard thier pleas and let them into the city, rushing out to apprehend the riders.
May was sobbing now. If it hadn't been for those gaurds she would have died. She mentally reminded herself to ask Philip to thank them later. She sniffed into Jack's shirt again, her sobs coming less frequently now.
He still continued to hug her, trying to ease her worry.
Aww Jack is so sweet. I figured you guys would want some action. Thanks for reading.
