May wondered how long it take the fairytale world to invent cars. In the one he sitting in her knees whacked in Lian's every time the hit a bump in the otherwise smooth dirt road. Jack was asleep his head on her shoulder. They were squished onto one seat, but Lian had her own. Jack's father had chickened out at the last second, claiming he would be harder to catch on a horse. Afterwards Lian had leaned in and whispered she thought he got carriage sick.
As the carrige hit a bad bump Jack jolted awake. His head had left in impression in May's sleeve, but know one moved to fix it.
"Arewethereyet?" He mumbled sleepily.
"No," May told him, smoothing some hair out of his sleepy eyes. She kissed his cheek. "Go back to bed."
Lian looked ready to barf. "On second thought I'm going to ride with Father." She knocked on the glass to tell the coach to stop and hopped out.
The journey continued smoothly until the spires of Philip's kingdom were in sight. They could here the laughing and cheering and ringing bells.
Suddenly a closer, louder noise engulfed them. It was the sound of a danger warning.
