I stood there in the doorway, a bright light flowing in behind me and into the small room. The kitchen had been how it always was. Pancake mix and chocolate filled my nose with the familiar sense of home that I had forgot even existed. It was as if I had never left. As if I were still on my way to start school for the last year.
"Honey you're going to be la-" my mother started to holler as she turned around, shock hitting her features, "Oh, I didn't see you there sweetie. Here breakfast is ready," she nudged a plate full of pancakes and fruit my way. Tears welled in my eyes as I looked at my mother. She was absolutely stunning in every way she could be. Her face never wrinkled, except for where it mattered, and her smile never faded. Her personality literally lit up a room. It was what I loved about her. And what I missed about her.
"I can't... this isn't real." I choked out, scared that if I admitted what I was actually thinking out loud, that it would make it even more real than it really was.
"What are you talking about? Honey come join us." My father voice echoed as he walked into the room. I never thought I would hear the gruff of his voice again. The short ruffle that had grown around his features made him really looked aged but just like my mother, his smile never faded. His hand wrapped around my mothers waist as he planted a short kiss on her cheek and glanced up at me confused.
"But I... you're not real...." I said my heart shattering. A turning feeling hit my stomach as my father straightened and looked at me confused.
"Grace, this is real. What are you talking about?" he asked stepping around my mother to come towards me.
"This.... this can't real.."I said just before the light that had been pouring in began to brighten forcing me to clench my eyes shut.
"SHE'S OVER HERE!" Izzy's voice came pushing into my ears at full force with a ringing echo. The sound caused my face to scrunch as an incinerating pain shot up my left arm. My jaw tightened and a hissing sound left my lips making Izzy turn to look at my and bend down.
"Hang in there, they're coming." she said running a hand along the side of my face and looking up one more time. At that moment the pain shooting up my arm and down my back was causing my vision to blur and my eyes to roll back. But just before I fell into the darkness waiting for me I was able to see my brother and Ben run up to me.

"Let me see her."
"She's in a really bad state right now. She needs her rest."
"I know she does but she can rest when I see her."
"Ben, it's for the best and you know that."
"Shut up Izzy! She didn't sleep with you and then leave you to blow herself up did she? I woke up thinking I would see her smiling at me and instead I woke up to a cold bed."
"I know you did Ben, but no one knew what she was going to do."
"Just leave her alone for now she just needs time."
"Time for what? To get her story straight? To figure out how to lie to me again!?"
When the voices came, they came all at once, hitting me full force as if I were standing in front of a speeding train. The ringing noise came back making the already pounding feeling behind my eyes worse. Above me, bright florescent lights lit up the small white space I had seen too many times. A place I never thought I would see again. I almost though it was a dream until the door swung open and I saw Ben standing there. His hair was disheveled and his face was covered in a layer of dirt that hadn't been there when I left. It was as if I was seeing him for the first time all over again and every emotion I had ever felt came rushing overwhelming my senses.
