Alexa took a deep breath as Cristiano helped her out of the car, she was so nervous and she wasn’t sure what would happen; today was her first day of therapy and it had been a week since she’d been released from hospital.

Alexa had found herself struggling with wanting to move on with her life and Cristiano was doing his best to help her; Junior was a big help and Alexa loved spending time with him.

“Are you ready?” Cristiano asked taking her hand, he looked around knowing that he didn’t want any paparazzi harassing them right now.

Cristiano was doing his best to keep Alexa out of the lime-light, he loved his fiancée and she didn’t need to be plastered across the front page right now when she was recovering.

“As ready as I will ever be,” Alexa said allowing Cristiano to walk her to the building, she knew he wouldn’t be sat with her in the session but just being nearby helped her.

Alexa was trying to rebuild her life and not let what had happened to her get her down, she had cut all contact with Daniella; she needed better friends and she had no interest in the woman who had left her alone.

Cristiano was still furious about that and Alexa didn’t blame him, if Daniella hadn’t of left her alone then there was a high chance that this wouldn’t have happened to her.

Cristiano opened the door for Alexa and allowed her to step inside, she tugged her sleeves down over her hands as Cristiano moved to check her in for her appointment.

“Alexa Dylan to see Dr. Mendez,” Cristiano said peeking at his fiancée, he hoped that talking to someone who could understand her would do Alexa some good.

Cristiano didn’t want her bottling things away and it would only hurt her more in the long run; he didn’t want anything to hurt Alexa including herself.

Alexa took a deep breath as she stared at Dr. Mendez, she wasn’t sure what to expect and she knew that she had to do this; Alexa didn’t want what had happened to rule her life.

“How are you feeling Alexandria?” Dr. Mendez said looking over her glasses at the woman before her, she had been directed to the blonde by a colleague that worked at the hospital.

Alexa frowned at the name, she hated it and it was the reason that she had shortened it; only her mother called her Alexandria and it made her feel unworthy in so many ways.

“Alexa… no one calls me Alexandria only my mother,” Alexa said looking at the therapist, she took a deep breath; she felt stressed and she wasn’t sure how much she would be quizzed about what had happened.

Dr. Mendez nodded her head as she made some notes on her clipboard, she watched Alexa knowing that none of this could have been easy for her.

“How are you feeling Alexa?” Dr. Mendez said trying again, she wanted the blonde to be comfortable with her and with there still be no luck in finding the men that had done this to her; there was a chance that they never would.

Alexa looked down at her hands, one of them was still in a cast after what had happened and it would be another week before it came off.

“I don’t know… it’s all so confusing, I don’t understand how anyone could do this to someone,” Alexa said looking down, she knew that she wanted answers but time was running out on ever finding the two men that had done this to her.

Dr. Mendez nodded her head, she could see that Alexa was coping as expected with what was going on and she was glad it wasn’t going to be a hard case.

“I feel like I’m not good enough, I feel sad and I can feel their hands on me,” Alexa said swallowing back the sick that she felt, she felt a small weight lifting from her shoulders glad that she could talk about this.

Dr. Mendez nodded her head, she was pleased to see that Alexa was opening up; it would hurt her more to keep these things bottled up and she would recover better by talking about this.

“Sometimes I want to get into the shower, set the water to boil and scrub my skin raw to get rid of the feeling,” Alexa said as tears filled her green eyes, she sniffled knowing that she hadn’t even told Cristiano about any of that.

Dr. Mendez nodded her head, they would have to keep a close eye on things and make sure that Alexa didn’t turn to self-harm to cope with what had happened to her.

“How does that make you feel?” Dr. Mendez asked looking at Alexa, she was going to do as much as possible for the blonde and she was sure that after a few sessions then everything would be fine.

Alexa looked at Dr. Mendez, she was so relieved that she wasn’t being judged for what she had said; she took a deep breath as she started to talk relieved that she had someone to talk to.

Cristiano bounced his knee as he watched the clock, Alexa’s session was only an hour long and he had been nervous about being away from his fiancée; he wasn’t sure how her first session would go.

Cristiano checked his phone, he knew that his mother had Junior for the afternoon and he hoped that she was doing okay with him; the past few weeks had been far from easy.

Hearing the door to the office open, Cristiano’s head snapped up as Alexa stepped out with Dr. Mendez; he watched them closely concerned wondering what had happened.

“A word Mr Ronaldo,” Dr Mendez said making Cristiano nod as he got to his feet, he was curious about what had happened; Alexa offered him a small smile messing with the prescription that she had been given.

Cristiano stepped into the office and looked at Dr. Mendez as she shut the door, they were alone and he wondered why she wished to speak to him.

“I have put your fiancée on a course of desipramine which she is to take once a day for four weeks,” Dr. Mendez said signalling for Cristiano to take a seat, it was just a precaution and she doubted that Alexa would be needing them for a long time.

Cristiano nodded his head, he took a deep breath as his mind started to think of ways to ensure that Alexa would take her medication; he hoped that this was all going to make her better.

“I want you to keep an eye on her… more so for any self-inflicted injuries,” Dr. Mendez said carefully, she wanted to make sure that Alexa didn’t have the chance to do any self-harm it would only be a step backwards.

Cristiano swallowed staring at the therapist, he didn’t think that it would ever come to that; it hurt to think that his fiancée would do anything like that.

“Okay,” Cristiano said softly, he took a deep breath as his mind tried to wrap around that fact; he would never let that happen to Alexa and he hoped that she would never go down that road.

Dr. Mendez smiled at Cristiano as she showed him out of her office, she watched him walk over to Alexa and kiss her softly; Alexa was very lucky to have him in her life.

“Let’s go home,” Cristiano said wrapping an arm around his fiancée, he didn’t know what would happen but he hoped that the next few sessions helped Alexa and made her better.

Alexa nodded her head, she was glad that she had agreed to get help and she felt a lot better in herself having talked to Dr. Mendez; she just hoped that nothing else went wrong.
