"Oh my God, I've made you nervous."

---

Elle and the boys were walking through the jungle, attempting to head back to the park. The young girl had been the one to point them in the right direction.

"So you've been here since you were fourteen?" Gray asked.

"Yep."

"Doesn't it get lonely?" Zach piped up.

"Sometimes, but I have a friend who calls me a lot," she replied, shrugging. "Besides, I have the dinosaurs."

"What was the foster system like?" Gray blurted.

"Gray you can't-"

"It's fine," Elle dismissed. "It was crowded and loud and chaotic," she told.

Their conversation was cut off as Gray rushed forward, picking up a broken workers hat. There was dried blood on it. They glanced around, their eyes landing on a broken vehicle. It was sparking.

"Stay here," Zach ordered.

"Not happening," Elle responded, marching after him, her hand grasping Gray's.

There was blood on the seats. Elle looked ahead, noticing the door.

"Come on," she muttered, leading them inside.

It was dark, the only light coming from the setting sun outside, it seeping through the little window that was left uncovered by overgrown plants.

Zach picked up a bone, noticing the banner underneath. He picked it up, shaking it off.

"You still have those matches?" Zach asked.

"Here you go." Gray passed him the small box.

Zach lit the banner on fire.

"You do realise I have torches in my bag right?" Elle reminded, having only just remembered herself.

"Elle," Zach exclaimed, sending her a glare.

"I forgot," she explained, shrugging.

They made their way into what Elle assumed was a garage.

"1992 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, Sand Beige," Gray informed.

"You remember when we fixed up Grandpa's old Malibu, right?" Zach questioned.

"Yeah," Gray breathed.

"Alright," Elle spoke, clapping her hands together. "Let's go."

Elle had stopped the two boys working when she noticed that the sun had gone down. It was late and they wouldn't be very useful if they were all exhausted. She had found a small room that they could sleep in, one that had enough exits to escape quickly if they needed to. She passed Gray the emergency fire blanket she had found. He fell asleep within twenty minutes, surprising the young girl. She smiled down at the sleeping child before turning to Zach.
