Chapter 1

Your POV (past)

The night of the particle accelerator explosion, I was working on a car. One of my clients asked me to install this thing into his car which will replace gasoline into this other substance that supposedly would make the car run faster for racing. Honestly, I doubted it would work but I did it anyway for money.

As I was about to pour the substance into the car, I had accidentally spilled some on my legs and I had gotten some into this cut I got earlier. Then, there was a loud noise, as if something exploded. I looked outside to see the particle accelerator exploded. That's when I got struck by lightning.

That's the last thing I remembered before waking up in my sister Serenity's house. I had so many tubes and needles in me. Bandages all over my body. When I woke up, I didn't feel any pain. As if I was never struck by lightning. I groaned as I got up, my legs felt a bit stiff, as if they fell asleep and had ants crawling on them. I took out all the tubes and such and slowly got out of bed. I had no idea what day it was or what time.

I walked towards the mirror in the bathroom to see that I have a white streak in my (h/c) hair. Like Anna from Frozen. I didn't dye my hair. I made my way towards the kitchen to see my sister. She gasped as she saw me. That's when it happened. As she gasped, she accidentally dropped her mug but it fell so slowly, next thing I know, the mug wasn't falling anymore. It was safely on the kitchen counter, and I was right in front of my sister's face.

"What.. Just happened?" I asked. How did I get here when I was standing over there?

"I-I don't know" my sister looked me up and down. "How on earth are you walking?" She examed my body and felt my forehead. My sister works at Mercury labs and she is also a doctor/surgeon. "You shouldn't be walking at all, you were in a coma for nine months."

I was shocked. 9 months?  I was gone for nine months? I looked at my sisters face and saw tears streaming down her cheeks. "Hey, don't cry.. What's wrong?" I brought her in for a hug.

"I thought I lost you.. My baby sister!  I was so scared. You were struck by lightning, you remember that?" I nodded. "No one knew what was wrong with you at the hospital. So I took you here, took care of you myself. You kept having seizures when the monitor said your heart stopped, then it started beating again." I pulled away and gave her a confused look.  "You died over and over again. But here you are.. Alive and-and walking!" She chuckled and hugged me once more.

"That's crazy.. Was anyone else hurt?  The same way I was?" I asked as I started to rummage through her fridge. I was getting super hungry.

"Yes, a 25 year old named Barry Allen. He worked for the ccpd. I'm not sure what happened to him. All I know is thag S.T.A.R labs took him."

There was nothing in her fridge that I could eat. "Serenity, you have no food in here!" I whined. Serenity looked as well. She chuckled.

"(Y/n)  you can clearly see a bowl of salad in there as well as some other veggies."

"Exactly!  You have no food!!" I closed her fridge. "I could really have some Big Belly Burger right now or- no!  I want coffee from Jitters and a donut!" I went back into the room I came from to get changed into new clothes. I put on a white turtle neck sweater under a black overall skirt. I then grabbed my favorite shoes and a jacket.

"(Y/n)  I don't think you should be going-" I dashed out of my sisters house.

Present Time:

I walked into Jitters and was immediately blasted with the smell of coffee and donuts. I lined up right away. I heard the door open.

"Iris!" I heard a male exclaim.

"Barry!!" Followed a female. I turned around to see a tall, very handsome guy hugging a pretty girl. That's when it clicked!  That's Barry!  Barry Allen, I remember now. He is a CSI and he came in one day to ask about a broken car that I was repairing.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when one of the employees dropped a tray. Once again, it was moving really slowly, only this time I didn't save the tray. I'm sure I'd get weird looks when people see me move from one place to another in a blink of an eye.

"I gotta go, Iris. Sorry, I'll catch up with you later though!" Said Barry. He seemed like he was in a rush. What if he experienced the same thing as me?  He was struck by lightning as well right?  So I followed him. I peeked behind a wall to see his hand shaking so fast it was just a blur. I looked down to see if I could do it as well and I did.

I looked back up and boom!  He dashed away. The last thing I saw of him was a red streak. I ran after him as fast as I could but I lost him. Although if Serenity was right, he could be at S.T.A.R labs right now.
