Your POV
I was now back at my apartment. Barry had just asked me out and I said yes! Why did I do that? I was supposed to get to know him but not in that way. I don't even know what to wear.
ding~
"Hey (y/n), it's Barry, I hope you actually gave me your number and not a random one haha, um, for our date, wear something formal, I wanted to take you somewhere a little bit more fancier than iced teas. See you soon."
I grinned at the message. Somewhere fancy huh? What do I even have that's fancy? I began to look through my closet. "Would any of this even fit me still? I haven't worn these dresses in ages." I checked the time to see that it was only 8:00 PM. I can make it to the mall if I'm fast enough. I grabbed my purse and checked outside my door. I waited until it was clear and dashed out of the building.
In a few seconds I was already at the mall in front of my favorite store. I walked in and looked around for dresses I'd like. I picked out four with 3 different shoes. I made my way towards the dressing room. After a lot of indecisive and insecure thoughts, I went with the second dress and third pair of heels. I am way too excited for this date. It's not like it would actually go anywhere, would it? I changed back into my clothes and went to pay.
--Two days later--
Today is the day. It was now 7:30 PM. I started getting ready at 6. I got a message saying that Barry was downstairs waiting. My heart is beating so fast, what is wrong with me? I took one last look in the mirror. I was wearing the clothes I bought the other day. I got a (f/c) dress that went halfway down my thighs. It was a spaghetti strap dress with an open back. My shoes were just a plain black heels. I also wore a necklace with a diamond heart pendant that my grandmother gave me when I was 5. I hope I don't look so bad or too overdressed.
I made my way downstairs. There he was. He looks so handsome in that grey suit. He turned around to see me coming down the stairs. He came me a smile which turned into a grin. Smiling back, I didn't notice the last two steps. I was then faced in a very similar scenario. I opened my eyes to see that I was in Barry's arms again. "Are you okay?" Barry asked, he helped me get back up. "Funny how I'm always catching you. Do you fall down this often?" He chuckled.
"I'm fine," I laughed. "And no, I guess you could say I'm falling for you." I mentally slapped myself. Why? Why? Why did you say that (y/n)?? I thought. I blushed and looked down. "U-um.. You look really nice."
"Thank you. You look stunning, (y/n)." He held out his hand. "Let's go?" he asked. I nodded and took his hand in mine. I felt a spark as soon as I touched his hand. It didn't hurt, it was just surprising. I think he felt it as well since he looked down at our hands the second it happened. We didn't say a word about it. We began to walk outside our apartment building.
"So, where are we going?" I asked.
"Well, since you told me you had been in a coma for a while, I thought it would be nice for your first date back to be somewhere nice and special," I looked up at him. He was way taller than me. "I-I mean I'm assuming this would be your first date back. I mean, n-not that I think no one would go out with you, that is not what I meant at all- I just-" I giggled at Barry stuttering. I shook my head.
"I get it. Don't worry." I chuckled. "This is my first date back though. I'm glad it's with you."
"Me too. I mean, not that your my first date back from my coma, I wasn't in a coma, I mean, I'm glad I'm having this date with you." Oh Barry. He's trying so hard to keep his secret. Hopefully one day we can trust each other enough. After a while of chatting and walking, we finally reached the restaurant.
"Solstice Grove? How'd you get a reservation here? I heard it was really hard to get one." We walked in. We were greeted by waitresses and waiters.
"I know some people." We walked up to the host.
"Yeah? Like who? Oliver Queen?" I joked. He laughed. We were then shown our table. The waiter began to pour us drinks. "What is this?" I asked.
"Iced tea, Miss." The waiter replied. He finished pouring and left us to pick out our food. I looked at Barry and he smiled.
"Well we did agree on getting iced tea" he said. I smiled back and took a sip of my iced tea. We then took our orders. As we waited for our food, Barry got a text message. The look on his face changed from happy to worried.
"What's wrong?" I asked. He looked back at me and shook his head.
"Its nothing. I'm going to go to the men's room. I'll be right back." I nodded my head. He got up and made his way to the bathroom. A few minutes later, the TV's in the room changed to the news. There has been a stolen vehicle and the ones who stole it were apparently armed. I looked outside the window to see a red blur zoom across the city. I got out of my seat to ask one of the waiters to check if anyone was in the men's bathroom and he said no. That was Barry. I ran out of the restaurant and followed him. I eventually lost him. I sighed and ran back to the restaurant and sat back down. Moments later, Barry walks out of the bathroom. I smiled at him. That red blur was definitely Barry.
I acted normal and just ate dinner with him. I also got to know him. Apparently his mother died when he was 11 and his dad got accused of murdering him. That's so terrible. After dinner, we decided to walk around Central City. "You know, it's getting pretty late." I said. We were a few blocks away from our building. "I'll race you home?"
"I'm a pretty slow runner" He chuckled. "Plus in those shoes?" I looked down at my heels.
"Well, it's night and no one is around...plus," I grabbed Barry's hands and stepped in closer. "Something tells me your the fastest man alive." He stared at me with a very confused look. I chuckled. "Come on, Allen, I'm sure you're not that slow." He chuckled nervously.
"Okay, but you're in heels there's no way." I thought about running using my speed towards the pole that was on the other side of the road. But no, I wanna surprise him in a different way.
"Fine, fine. I'm racing you one day though. After all, that's what I do during my free time, right?"
We finally made it back home. He walked me up to my apartment door. "Wow. This is your apartment?" He asked. I nodded and asked why. "Mine is just a hallway down. That's crazy. I'm still really surprised that I've never seen you here before."
"People live different lives right? Different schedules."
"Maybe one day that'll change" Barry leaned in. His eyes switched from mine to my lips. I started to lean in as well when I stopped and chuckled.
"Maybe. One day, Barry Allen." I smiled. "Thanks for tonight. I had a lot of fun. Goodnight." I smiled at him once more before entering my apartment. Once I shut the door my face instantly heated up. "You crazy woman! You almost kissed him what is wrong with you??" I said to myself. I looked in the mirror and lifted my hand to my cheeks to feel how hot they were. "You almost kissed him oh my god." i couldn't stop smiling, what's wrong with me?
