Dancing Queen

Chapter 3: The Game

I made it just in time for the game, I saw my friend Fernando inside the wolves' mascot doing cartwheels on the field during halftime. He has been my friend since elementary school, then I saw one of my best friends, Breasia, from elementary school come up to me.

"Hey Breasia, where is everyone else, I thought they were going to come." I said in disappointment that the rest of my friends weren't there from elementary and middle school.

"They were busy, they text me ten minutes ago saying that they couldn't come, but at least I'm here." Breasia said with a smile on trying to cheer me up, I smiled back at her. We went up the stairs to find some seats at the bleachers. At first, I tried looking for Rachel, but she was sitting next to the guy she liked named Brad.

Breasia screamed (so I could hear her over all the screaming) " I found seats over her!" as she stood on the left side on the top of the bleachers waving her hands so I could see her. I quickly squeezed by all the people so I could make my way to the top, but finally I made it.  I saw William taking a water break and he spotted me from the bleachers, he waved at me and (like any other person would do) I waved back.

The scoreboard is: Home 10 and Guest 12 in the last quarter with 2 minutes left and if they get 3 more points they win. Unlike other girls, I like watching football even though I don't understand it all of the time. During football season, I usually sit on the couch eat some wings or pizza and watch football.

I could hear the loudspeaker announcing "The wolves are on offense and the bears are on defense, will the wolves take victory and win. There is only one way to find out." Will is the quarterback this year, but last year he was the linebacker. Will was running back to the field, but I couldn't help but look at his butt.

Breasia asked "Hey Lily, wanna get snacks for the game, if not I could get you something." as she stood up to leave and I looked at her as was coming back to earth. Sometimes I wonder if he just says I'm his good luck charm, so I could come because he thinks I'm one of those girls that don't like football .... well he's wrong.

I answered "No I'm good, I'll just stay here and watch the rest of the game." as I continued to watch the rest of the game and watched her walk away.  

The loudspeaker announced "There is 15 seconds on the clock and wolves are still on offense," as we heard the loudspeaker making a noise of a man drinking water " the game is back on track, the quarterback just caught the football and is starting to run toward the end zone." I was at the edge of my seat  watching the game (when I was actually watching Will). I saw Will running toward the end zone as two football players were neck-to-neck with him.

"He is inches away, ladies and gentleman, and ....they tackled him....but....he made the touchdown!!!!" the loudspeaker announced as I heard the screaming in the background. Breasia came with the snacks realizing the game was over and we won because everyone was cheering including me.

After the game, I saw Will come out of the locker room once he was done changing. He spotted me from the sidewalk where I was waiting for my older sister.

"Hey Will, you did it!" I said smiling as he lifted me in the air by my waist with me feet dangling while he swung me in circles.

He put me down and replied "No, my good luck charm, we did it." as he put a piece of my hair behind my ear and kissed me gently on my lips and whispered "I have a surprise for you."
