Chapter 3: The Problem

It was September and it’s Niall’s birthday. We greeted him by running in his room and jumping on his bed. We had a birthday cake for him downstairs.

Later night, M made a pool party in our  house. Liquor and music again. Fun.

Didn’t I mention that Candace is back now after staying in LCA? So, here. She’s back here in our house. We’re not expecting trouble again from her. She promised to be good now.

Afternoon, me, Eleanor and Danielle went to the mall to buy a gift for Niall..

“Niall has everything.” Says Eleanor. “Let’s just take a girl home, for him.” I say and we laughed.

After buying gifts, we went home and dressed our best. Then at night, we went to the pool side. Almost everyone who we knew was there. The agents of LCA, the boys, Olivia and Jerry, Aston, Jay, and Ryan, were there too. Candace is also there. Uncle M isn’t here because he’s in a trip to Canada. He’s going back tomorrow, I guess.

I walk towards Niall, “Nialler! Happy Birthday!” I say to him. “Oh, Tiffy! Thank you so much.” Niall hugs me back. “Drink whatever you like!” he says. “Oh, thank you too. Have you seen Zayn?” I ask him. “I saw him with Louis at the DJ’s desk.” Niall says. “Thank you, see you again later.” I tell him.

I went to the DJ’s desk where they control the music.

“Hey, DJ Malik, DJ Tommo.” I smile to them. “Hello, beautiful.” Zayn says to me with a smile. “Having fun?” Louis asks me. “Yah. I’m actually up for some drinks now.” I say. “Candace is at the bar. You might wanna hang out with her.” Louis adds. “Oh, okay. I’ll be back later.” I say. “Babe, not too much.” Zayn says. “I can’t hear you!” I replied.

I passed through a wave of people partying before I reach Candace.

“Hey,” I call her. “Hi Tiff. What do you want?” she asks me. “Tequila as usual. You know what I drink.”  I tell her and the guy serves me tequila. “Thanks.”

“You’re not partying?” I ask her. “You know, I’m a good girl now.” Says Candace. “Changed a lot?” I say. “Hahaha, not really. Then I shouldn’t drink. Have you seen Liam?” she asks me. “He’s with Niall and Harry, actually, they’re in the pool.” I say. “You wanna take a dip?” I ask her. “No, you go if you wanna.” Candace says.

“I saw my ex-boyfriend here. Never thought that he would be here.” Says Candace. “Wow. Really? Did you talk to him?” I ask her. “No, never will I.” she says.

“Tiff. Control.” Eleanor whispers to me with a glass of wine on her hand. “I know. I know. I won’t get drunk.” I say with a smile. “I don’t believe!” Danielle says. “You drink too much but Zayn gets drunk easily than you.” says Candace. “Oh, you also noticed that.” I laughed.

“We’re gonna take a dip on the pool. See you later. Control!” Eleanor says and walks away from me.

“Let’s just enjoy drinking here, Tiff.” Candace says and I agree.

After about 3 hours, it’s almost 11PM. I’m feeling dizzy but my body is well relax and I can clearly see everything. I can’t just move from my seat now ‘because it feels like my body is too lazy to walk. I’m quiet. But the noise around our house is too loud.

“Tiff, you okay?” Liam holds my shoulder. I shake my head. If I say a word, feels like I’m gonna throw up.

“You’re drunk.” Liam says. But I just keep on shaking my head. “I’ll bring you to your room now.” Liam says. I shake my head in response.

He puts my glass down from my hand and carries me to my room.

“Recover.” He says. I can see Danielle covering me up with my blanket. “Take a sleep little Payne.” Danielle says.
