My Little Slice of Clear Sky

Chapter 16

2nd pov))

Raptor came back later than expected and you waited up for her when she commed in that she was arriving late. 

"You should be in recharge." She stated as she landed

"And you should have arrived back here earlier." You retorted 

"I got... caught up in something." 

That was the only explanation she gave to her tardiness. It was suspiciously vague. And it didn't explain the suspicious limp in her step either. You let it slide though, not wanting a fight. Not with one of your guards, not now. 

You turned your gaze to the dark sky above. Taking in a deep vent you studied the sky here, there was many constellations that your identification system knew, but you have never seen before. You vented than turned off all the extra systems that were running and just let your optics follow along the stars and make your own new constellations with your own names. You stepped out of your armor to feel the air against your frame. 

You slowly pulled the red cloth from your subspace and rubbed it gently against your cheek. 

"My love if you were here I'm sure you'd love this place."

Starscream hated this place!

He was sop and wet and cold as he drug his pedes to get to his dorm on the Nemesis. His wings hung low and trembled. He had been on a mission where the sky suddenly decided to make his existence harder than it already was and start to storm. 

He hated this place! He hated the weather patterns! He hated the organics! He- 

His thoughts her interrupted by a familiar red medic.

"Rough day Screamer?" Knockout chuckled taking in his wet frame 

"Why? Do you want to make it worse?" He huffed

"No, just want to make your job easier." Ko shrugged, "But if you don't want to hear about what I have to say," He turned on his pede, "I'll just go."

"No, Knockout just tell me." Starscream glared 

"Why should I? You were oh so rude to me." 

Starscream rolled his optics, "Just spit it out you walking tub of polish."

Ko chuckled, "Well one of the Vehicons that I was treating said their ambush on an autobot there was a seeker there, who they believe was a delegate of the little 'Seeker Clique' searching for allies with the autobots."

The silver seeker blinked, "Impossible!" 

The shiny medic shrugged, "I am just tellin' you what I heard."

"They are too proud to ally themselves with some lowly grounders." Starscream didn't know why he was defending the seekers who proclaimed him dead to their race 

"Then that explains why your here." Ko laughed as he walked away 

Starscream swallowed thickly, there was truth in Knockout's statement, but he was too proud to admit it. He was willing to admit that he was an idiot, just not to his faction... Or even himself really. 

Starscream didn't notice the rain water anymore as he finally got to his dorm. He entered the code to open it and walked in. He wanted to collapse right into berth, but he was far to lost in thought to even let himself do that. 

The seekers were far too proud to dare look for the 'bots for help. But you... you... It was hard to explain really, you were willing to let grounders in, let them benefit Vos. But that was then, that was when all of his dreams so real and with in his grasp. They were as far away as cybertron, and farther yet due to his foolish cowardly mistake. 

Thats when Starscream found himself crying.
