"Drena, I'm dying!"

Drena laughed as she pushed Lacey's water bottle over to her. Lacey fell back in the grass and put some of the water on her face. She could hear Jay yelling at them to get up and get back in line but she didn't care.

"We gonna get in trouble," Drena said. Lacey looked over at her and shrugged.

"He gonna just have to fight me."

Drena laughed before stretching her legs in front of her and grabbing her ankles.

"How you stretching and we ain't done yet?" Lolo asked, jogging over to them.

"I'm done," Drena said.

"Done done," Lacey cosigned. Lolo laughed at them before going back to her spot and finishing a set of burpees.

It had been a couple of months since Lacey saw Carson and she was finally getting her emotions under control. Her and Jay were really good friends at this point. She even helped Lolo and his people plan his birthday celebration at the end of November. She'd gone home for Christmas and New Years, kicked it with her family and even chilled with Aiden for a day. She started dating again and even saw Ken a few times. They had bumped into each other when Lacey started back going to the gym. Focusing on her business and her health kept her sane.

Although she hadn't joined when she said she would, Jay kept bringing his fitness program up every chance he got. Lacey had signed up for his 60 days of fitness and convinced Drena to do it with her. It was only the beginning of week two and although Lacey felt good, she thought Jay and his friends were crazy. Their workouts were getting worse and worse.

Being in LA definitely made Lacey a little self-conscious. Everyone was either naturally thin or surgically perfect. Of course there were people of all sizes, but in her industry, looking good at all times seemed to be a thing now. She didn't want to be fake and do things that she wasn't comfortable with, but she knew she'd feel better about herself if she finally stuck to her health goals.

Lacey rolled her eyes as she saw Jay jogging over to them.

"No!" she yelled. "I quit!"

He laughed before reaching out to pull her up off the ground. "Just jog with me for a second."

Lacey stomped and rolled her eyes. "Jayceon! I quit."

"Now what type of friend would I be if I let you quit on yourself?"

"A decent one," Drena said. Lacey nodded and Jay laughed.

"Y'all wilin'," he said. "Give me a one minute jog and I'll leave you alone."
