James
"I'm nervous, Ethan." I repeat for the fourth time since he's shown up.
"James, you have no reason to be nervous. She's just a kid." Ethan responds flicking his hair out of his face.
Cameron had shown up a few minutes ago and she was already talking to Emma about Grayson's daughter. I hadn't seen their mom show up and I could tell that was getting on Ethan's nerves.
"James, did you really bring a smaller size of your Sister hoodie for Willow?" Ethan asks after a moment of silence.
"Does she have one?"
"No, but-"
"I'm going to be the best Uncle ever."
"We're gonna have to fight on that one. I bought about a hundred percent of the stuff we got her last night." Ethan rolls his eyes.
"Uncle Ethan!" A small girl, fairly similar to Grayson, runs up to Ethan.
He lifts her up, hugging her tightly. My hands grip on the bag as Willow looks around. She smiles and waves at Cameron. I watch Cameron's face light up as she comes over to talk to Willow.
"Oh my gosh, hi sweetie. How are you?" She ask as Willow holds her arms out to her.
"Good. I'm waiting for Grayson. I left him behind." She responds.
"Did Grayson tell you could come and find us?" Ethan asks raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I gave her permission. If I hadn't, she was going to run off anyway. Cameron, where's mom?" Grayson says as he messes with his hair.
"Grayson, I don't think she's coming. I know we're in town for a little bit, but she was really angry. She yelled at me because I said that I knew you would. I know you better than she does, but she didn't like that." Cameron responds while Emma moves to my side.
"Does your mom not want me?" Willow asks.
I can tell by the look on the Dolan kids' faces that they're all heartbroken. They don't know what to say and neither do I. It was a tough question from a nine year old, but she said what we were all thinking.
"Grayson, is this Willow?" Their mom asks, stepping out of an uber.
"I was starting to think you weren't going to show. You seemed pretty angry." Cameron mouths back at her mother.
"Cameron, I was. I still am. However, Grayson acted on instinct. I respect your brother for that. It's just been hard since your dad passed. It's been hard for me to accept new things and this whole thing is gonna be hell, Grayson. Raising a child isn't easy, but with you and Ethan, I think you can do it."
"He's also got us. And I'm gonna be a better Aunt than Cameron. I bet you twenty bucks that James will be a better Uncle than Ethan." Emma says leaning on my shoulder.
"Alright, I'll agree with Emma on the fact that she's gonna be a better Aunt, but I'm only giving it to her because I still have a few more months before I move out here. Ethan being the less better Uncle, I don't know about that." Cameron responds as Grayson plays with some of Willow's hair that had fallen out of her braid.
"Hey, I'm glad we've settled some stuff, but I want to meet this beautiful girl." I speak up.
"She was extremely nervous on the way over here," Grayson says as Ethan sets her down.
"Me too, Sister. Ethan was being an ass about it too." I say as I crouch down to be the same height as Willow.
"Isn't he always?" Willow asks before running into my open arms.
