Grayson
Day after day passed. With each passing day, the plan became more and more developed. Whenever Willow passed out in my bed, Ethan and I started to move things from our set room to the guest house. It was hard being quiet, the slightest noise would startle her awake and it would take several moments to make her quiet and go back to sleep. With her birthday being in less than a week, I could feel the anxiety getting worse. I wanted her to have a bedroom by her tenth birthday, but with the way things have been going, there was no way it was going to be done. Each time I brought this up to Ethan, he told me not to stress about it.
"Send her to James'. I keep telling you that. We both know that James has had a room set up for her for a bit. I think it's time we give in and let her go. Gray, we can't blow this. It won't be that great of a surprise if we blow it before it even gets started. Emma has already told you that she doesn't mind helping us out. She'd be more than glad too." Ethan says with a small smile.
"Just an excuse to stay with you all night again?"
His face reddens, "Whaa? N-no."
"It's okay E-Tee-Wee-Tee. You're in love."
"Grayson, shut up before I sucker punch you."
"Don't threaten me."
"Daddy?" Willow shouldn't be up. It was almost two in the morning.
She walks over to where Ethan and I are standing and she holds her arms up. I pick her up, letting her wrap her arms around my neck. She yawns tired, rubbing her eyes. Ethan looks at me and I can tell he's hoping the same thing that I am: That Willow hasn't heard a single word about her room.
"What's wrong, Sweetie? You should be sleeping." Ethan says softly while Willow shifts in my arms.
"I had a nightmare and I tried to go back to sleep, but I can't." Willow whines, making me frown.
"You want to come sleep with me and see if that helps at all?" Ethan asks which makes Willow nod her head.
I hand Willow over to Ethan, who bounces her slightly. She giggles quietly before resting her head in Ethan's shoulder. He puts the food he was eating back in its container and back into the fridge.
"Goodnight, Gray. You need to head to bed and think about what I've said. He'd be a great help and she'd love every second of it." Ethan says as he stalks off towards his room.
Maybe he was right. Maybe the only way to get this done was sending Willow to James' for a bit and having Emma help. If Cameron came out for a bit before she leaves, we might even be able to get it done faster. As I finish off my drink, my phone vibrates loudly on the counter.
1:35 A.M.
Her ❤: Hey, I know you're probably not up, but I just wanted to say, I missed you. I'm leaving London soon with my dad, so I should be home anytime. Happy for Ethan and Emma. I hope we can be next. Also can't wait to meet little Willow. 😘
Gray: I miss you too. You're going to love her, I'm for sure of it. You need to get some sleep.
Her❤: Grayson, it's 8 A.M. over here. I should be telling YOU to go to bed.
Gray: Touché. Night/Morning my love.
Her❤: Go to sleep, you idiot.
