Wendy opened her eyes and found herself standing in a clearing within a forest. To her right she noticed a single stone bench.
"I... I've returned," she said aloud to herself as she glanced around, suspecting she somehow landed back in Neverland.Peter was watching her from behind a nearby tree and smiled. He soon came strolling out and made himself seen to her.
"Oh! Peter?" Wendy said in surprise.
"Hi Wendy," he said brightly. A twirling wind began to pick up, surrounding Wendy. Before she knew it, she was wearing a white dress somewhat akin to Cinderella's. She looked back at Peter and noticed he was now wearing a matching suit, complete with a white top hat and its own train that resembled her dress' skirt. "Welcome back!" He said with a grin. Wendy smiled as she went to hug him and playfully twirl around, holding each other's arms. "I missed ya, ya know."
"Oh Peter me too," she said with a giggle. They took each other's hand and wandered out of the forest. They soon came upon a small town, in the distance could be seen a small castle. "Peter, when did a kingdom form in Neverland?" She asked. A somewhat troubled look came to his face.
"I don't know but those guys in there have all the fun for themselves," he said with a shake of his head. Just then two other princesses Wendy's age spotted them and went over to them.
"Wendy! Glad to see you back, they want to meet us at the castle," one of the princesses said.
What? Us?" Wendy asked. She looked at Peter with an unsure expression.
"Hey go on ahead. I'll be nearby," he assured. Wendy gave a nod and let the two girls lead her to the castle. Peter rose a brow and skeptically crossed his arms."What's going on?" Wendy asked the two princesses.
"The princes traveled far to settle here and wish to meet us. They might form a liking to you," one of them responded. They soon entered the castle and looked around in wonder. Just ahead of them in the throne room they spotted the three princes stand to greet them. They wore a blue, red, and green suit respectively. Upon seeing them, Wendy's white dress developed a swirling red pattern.
"So you're Wendy Darling we've heard much about. A pleasure to meet you," the prince with the red suit said as he took her hand and have a short bow. Wendy smiled nervously before glancing at the two other princesses as they gave her encouraging looks. The princes lead the girls to the back of their castle where they had a large garden and a worn wooden cottage with a water mill. They spent the rest of the afternoon getting to know each other as they played games and ran around the garden. Meanwhile, Peter watched on curiously from within the trees and bushes as he suspiciously tilted his top hat down. The girls and the princes wandered into the cottage to explore within it. They maneuvered between the beams of the water mill before Wendy and the red prince decided to journey upstairs while the others stayed behind. While looking around in wonder, Wendy decided to be more playful with the prince and challenged him to a game of tag. They ran around the creaky upstairs of the cottage as the prince attempted to not be caught by her. He chuckled before stopping dead in his tracks. He had nearly fallen out of the cottage through a hole in the wall just over the water mill on the outside until he heard Wendy approaching.
"Wendy wait-" he barley managed to finish his sentence when she fell on to him and sent them tumbling out the hole. Fortunately the cottage wasn't so high so he fell onto the water mill and slid off it like a slide, landing below in the water. The prince sat dizzy in the shallow water for a moment before shaking his head. "Wendy?" He asked as he darted his head around until he looked up. He saw Peter in the air back in his regular green clothes carrying Wendy in his arms as he glared down at him. Wendy held tight but looked away with a sorry look."It's a good thing I was around to see the whole thing," Peter remarked as he put Wendy down and floated in front of the two.
"Are you guys ok?" The two princes and the two girls came in as they ran outside to them.
"What were ya thinkin'? You can't fly," Peter pouted.
"Oh.. we know, Peter. We're sorry," Wendy said with a lowered head.
"Peter thanks for looking out for us," the red prince added. Peter eyed him disapprovingly before stubbornly pouting and looking away.
"Peter, the princes said we could go inside to their castle for a great feast and games around the castle. You could join us if that'll make you feel better," Wendy tried as she walked up to him. Peter continued to pout but opened an eye to look at them. "Come on it'll be fun." Peter hummed aloud and scratched his head in thought.
"Fine. But I won't like it," Peter said as he attempted to mask the smile coming to his face before flying off ahead to the castle. The others laughed and ran to catch up with the speed of Peter's flight behind him.
