WHEN I say Caspian is a crybaby, I mean it.
"You m-mean..." Lumunok siya. "Because I'm his Papa? And you're his Mimi... or..."
"Yes, or..." I trailed.
His lips parted in disbelief. Nailing siya.
"Huh? H-how?" Nanginginig na ang boses niya. "Si Castor–"
I smiled. "They're twins, Cas," I confirmed.
One by one, his tears fell. He was still looking at me, still processing everything. I nodded in confirmation.
Hindi ko na siya napigil sa biglaan niyang pagtayo sa kama, hatak pa rin ang dextrose, at halos takbuhin ang pwesto ng anak na nakatutok sa telebisyon.
He kneeled. Niyapos niya ito at napuno ng pagtataka ang mata ni Riu nang humikbi si Caspian habang yakap-yakap siya.
"A-anak," Caspian gasped and hugged Riu closer to his body. "I-I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry..."
My heart melted. Sirius' lips protruded, his confused green eyes softened. Tears formed in his eyes and I bit my lip when Sirius encircled his little arms on his father's nape to embrace him.
"P-Papa po kita, Papa Caspian?" Sirius asked.
Caspian nodded, sinapo ang mukha ng anak at hinalikan ang noo nito, paulit-ulit.
I couldn't stop the tears from falling any longer. It was an emotional moment. With my son on the couch and his father, looking like a lost kid kneeling and weeping on his feet.
Kaya pala sobrang magkamukha. I always thought they looked alike coincidentally but then, it was all because they're father and son.
Nasasaktan ako sa lahat ng nangyari pero habang nakatitig sa dalawa'y naliliwanagan at nabibigyang pag-asa lalo ang puso ko.
I walked towards them. Umiiyak na rin si Riu.
Naupo ako sa tabi nila't hinayaan lang sila. It's painful to hear the agony in Caspian's voice.
"I-I'm so sorry, baby. P-Papa failed you," he chanted repeatedly.
Napatingin sa akin si Sirius, ang namumungay na mata ay mas lumambot.
"M-Mimi, 'di ba po, baby mo ako? Galing po ako sa heart mo?" Ang pahikbing tanong ng anak ko.
I tried supressing the tears but couldn't.
"N-no, baby..." I shook my head. "You're my real baby, not just from the heart. You... you came from Mimi."
Humikbi si Sirius, ang maliit na braso ay ipinamunas sa mukha.
"S-si Papa Cas po? From heart?"
"Y-you came from Papa Cas too, baby," paliwanag ko. "Like a real baby, not just from heart,"
He was so young but he seemed to understand. Muli niyang niyakap ang ama, pareho silang walang tigil sa pag-iyak.
My cry babies...
They stayed like that. I watched them quietly. Ganyang-ganyan rin ako nang mapag-isa kami ni Sirius pagkatapos namin siyang mailigtas. Muntik na rin akong mahimatay sa kakaiyak habang yakap ang isa sa kambal ko kaya naiintindihan ko ang panginginig ni Cas.
Nang humiwalay siya sa anak ay hinaplos niya ang pisngi nito at pinunasan ang mga luha.
"I love you, anak," he whispered.
"Love po kita, Papa!" Riu exclaimed and dried his cheek. "H'wag ka po iyak, sakit po ng heart ko, Papa."
"Really?" Masuyong sabi niya. "I'm sorry." Caspian smiled despite his tears.
