"Neo!" A voice called from behind me. I looked around the mass of students in the area who could've called. I spotted Ximena and a handsome tall brunette approach me.
Shit.
"You remember Shawn, right?" Ximena smiled.
How could I forget?
"Yeah," I smiled as I hugged my textbook closer to my chest. His hazel eyes peered into my dark brown eyes. It was impossible to ignore the way his pink lips curled upwards.
"How was your first class?" Ximena asked. I turned my attention towards her and hummed in response.
"Oh! Yeah it- it was okay," I stumbled. I heard a soft chuckle come from Shawn's direction. I looked up only to discover a boyish grin.
"Aw that sucks... I knew you were looking forward to it," she said with a sympathetic smile.
"What class was it?" Shawn asked curiously.
"Art history."
"What's your major?" He proceeded.
"Architecture," I replied simply.
"That's really cool! I have a friend who works at the Huntington and he says it's says great for inspiration. Maybe I can take you sometime."
I hated how casually he asked that. As if we hadn't even met before. Hands in his pockets and that stupid smirk across his face. I hated the fact that we were pretending as if nothing happened. I would do anything to press my lips against his again so I said, "Is Saturday okay?"
"I'll pick you up at eleven. See you guys later," he waved as he walked away.
"How are you going to find me?" I called.
"Ximena will figure it out!" He smiled mischievously and spun in the other direction.
"Holy shit!" Ximena gaped. She continued to ramble on, but I couldn't focus on her words. All I could think about was him.
