" Where where you? When it all came crashing down. "

My phone's screen flickered briefly around 1:00AM. I was awake, reading one of my childhood favorites; The Warriors Series. I flipped over and checked the screen.

                        > 1 New Message From Maddie
                        > 3 Missed Calls from Mrs. Wilde

At the mention of Oliver's parents, I jolted wide awake. I unlocked my phone and went to read Maddie's, she's my best friend by the way, text.

Maddie: Oliver's missing!! WHERE ARE U
                                1:20AM

Oliver... Oliver's missing? Impossible. Did he disappear?

                me: what?
                1:21AM

It took a moment for the news to settle in, then I started panicking. Oliver Wilde was my other best friend who lived down the road. We told each other everything, basically knew each other since birth, I kind of had a massive crush on him since fourth grade too.

I pulled myself out of bed, tugged a jacket on and ran outside the house with my phone clutched in my hand. I crossed the street with my feet bare, not even bothering to shut the door behind me.

I hurriedly pressed the bell on the Wilde's house.

A second later, Mr. and Mrs. Wilde answered the door, with bewildered looks on their faces.

"Oh thank god you're here, Lena!" Oliver's mother rambled. She was in a bathrobe and her blonde hair was tucked in a bun, but her eyes were swollen and she looked like she'd hadn't sleeped for a long time.

"We can't find Oliver anywhere!" Mr. Wilde cried. He wasn't in such a presentable state either.

I started shaking by then. Oliver had always been a momma's boy, never staying out past curfew, never breaking any rules, the perfect child.

"Have you tried calling him?" I said, my voice shaking.

Mrs. Wilde nodded and ushered me inside the house. All the lights were on and clothes were strewn on the ground. It seemed as though something had attacked his house.

Mr. Wilde ran a hand through his blonde hair. "Lena, I'm so sorry for the state our house is in. We were looking.. everywhere."

        "It's fine." I muttered.

My grip on my phone tightened as it beeped, signalling a new message.

Maddie: Ohmygod, I'm coming right now.
                                1:32AM

                me: ok
               1:34AM

After a few minutes, I understood what had happened. Mr. and Mrs. Wilde woke up the noise of loud clashing, and when they went downstairs, Oliver was gone, poof, disappeared into thin air. His bed was empty, though the matress was still warm. The place was a mess, and the front door was open.
