Only A Year

Chapter 4

We were on our way to my first period class when tanner clears his throat.

"So do you like it here so far?"he asked me .

"Yeah,I love it here the weather is much better and people here are really nice!" I exclaimed with a big smile.

Even though my whole family is in georgia I really love it here. CRAP! I totally forgot I told my mom I would call her before school starts. Ill have to sneak her a text today.

"Cool" he mumbled.

When we finally arrived at class barely anybody was there so I took the opportunity to take a seat in the very front. I tend to pay attention better in the front.

"What are you doing?" I looked up to see Harry talking to me.

"Um, sitting?" I replied.

"Why in the front though ?" He questioned with his head tilted to the side a little.

"I like it better" I shruged

"Why?"

"I tend to like it better and I listen better"

"Oh, okay"

I hear a horrible screeching sound and when I look next to me Harry's smirking at me. Then another horrible screeching sound, god I hate that sound. when I turn my head the other side there's Tanner smiling. God what is with these boys?

"Hello class welcome to language arts I'm your teacher Mrs.Whiteman." a lady with long black hair and dressed like a hippe said to the class. the next hour or so sonsistid of her telling the expectations handling forms for our parents/guardians to sign and such.

"Okay class you have 10 minutes remaining in class you may talk amusnt your self but please use inside voices" said mrs.whiteman

"So" I look to my left and there's Harry smiling showing his perfect dimples "tell me about yourself?" he questioned.

There's nothing to tell I'm such a boring person nothing exciting happens to me. I mean ,yeah , people say that people in Georgia are daring and adventurous but nothing for me.

"There's nothing to know I'm a boring person" I shrugged.

Just then the bell rang. I got up from my seat exiting the class room.I really hope I'm not late to class. ugh where's Harry and Tanner? Didn't they say they were gonna help me? I guess I'm on my own.

"JANELL!" I hear someone scream my name I turn around to see Tanner jogging to catch up with me.

"You didn't think I forgot about our promise did you?"

He ask raising his eyebrows.

"Oh sorry" I apologize

"Why are you apologizing?"

"Oh sorry"

"Stop apologizing" he says laughing.

"So- oh I almost forgot sor-"

I can then feel my face heat up from embarssement.

He just chuckles and we walk to class in a comfortable silence. Just then I realize. Where's Harry? Did I scare him? Did I say something wrong? Wait, since when do I care about what guys think of me? Oh we'll. On our way to second period he would occasionally accidently brush my hand with his fingers and led to him murmuring "sorry"and me telling him it's okay.

Second period went surprisingly fast and so did gym I even met a girl named Brenda I think we are gonna get along just fine I really like her and now it was time for lunch. I hate this part if school it was always the same parts the nerds,populars,goths, jockeys, and then the bad boys. Walking around with my tray trying to look for a empty I hear someone call me name.

"Aye,janell!"

I turn around to see Harry siting on top of a table surrounded by of course the popular kids. He waves to me indicating for me to sit with him. I hesitant for a second and just walk right there.I sit down next to him and give him a shy smile.

"Let me introduce you to lashyra,Emma,Tanika,Ceaser,Jayln,and Pamela"

I finally look up to see them and there all smiling widely at me. The first girl I notice is lashyraha she has really straight shoulder length brown hair with green eyes.Emma has strawberry blonde hair with brown eyes. Tanika has long black hair with purple glasses.Ceaser is very cute he has black hair in a quid and piercing gray eyes.Jayln was almost bald but not really with brown eyes.Pamela has brown straight hair with brown eyes.

"Hi I'm lashyrah or shy!" she introduced herself.

"Hi" I said giving her a smile .

"So why did you move here" I think Pamela said.

"Just a little expiement"

"Oh"

Then the rest of lunch consisted of them with their own conversation. I shift awkwardly in my chair and try to pay attention to Emma telling her a story about her and her mom fighting about who cares.

"Hey" Tanika whispers to me, " he's staring at you"

I turn around to see Harry staring at me and when we lock eyes he gives me a small wink making me blush.
