Only A Year

Chapter 5

The week has been gone by surprisingly fast I met a few more friends and I've gotten even closer to shy and Brenda. The only thing bringing me down is my family it's been three months since I've seen them. I remember one Halloween I was 5 and Aby was 4 I was Winnie the Pooh and Aby was tigger. Although it was freezing and we saw a pool and decided to get in and lots of trouble our mom screamed at us for thirty minutes straight. I think that aby and I were the closest our of all my sisters. My sister Cynthia is and always will be special she's one of those few kids who loose their twin,yep Cynthia's a twin her name was Andrea. Even though I don't remember her I cried. I wasn't very fond of how my mom told us she didn't even really tell us we found Cynthia's birth certificate and it said she was a twin. That day and still till this at I was so mad at her.

The second day is when it really sunk I could have been a big sister to twins!!

I didn't even notice I was crying until I felt a hot liquid fall on my legs.Quickly wiping it away I took one last look to get ready for school. I was wearing a pink shirt with a flower pattern skirt and my pink sandles with my hair in a high ponytail.

Grabbing my jansport I headed out the door and into the car.The car ride was quiet and short once again Nena saying she won't be home for dinner that she left some in the refrigerator.

As soon as I walked into the school I was engolfed in a hug as soon as I turned around I'm met with a smiling Shy.

"Hey girl you look really good" she says raising her brows.

"Really? Thanks." I told her giving her a smile

"So guess what?" she turned around and started walking so I followed her " I like someone" she murmurs blushing slightly.

"Really,if you don't mind me asking who?"

"His name is Ceaser"

"Oh he is really cute your perfect for each other" I remember Ceaser from the first day of school he has black hair that was in a whiff and he is very built.

" I don't think he like me though". She says giving me a worried look.

"Do you want me to talk to him"?

"OMG would you? Thank you soooo much" she's says hugging me tighter than earlier.

"No problem' I say giving her a small laugh.

While waiting for the bell to ring we walked around talking about just random stuff.

"What time does the bell ring" I ask her?

"Uhh it should be ringing in like 5 minutes" shy says to me.

I give her a small "thanks". We start talking about each other's family when I feel a pair of arms slither through my waist.

"We'll hello beautiful" a familiar raspy voice says behind me and turn around to be met with blue eyes,Tanner.

"Oh,hi" I say shyly

"Shy of you mind if I steal her for awhile" he says not breaking eye contact with me.

"Nope go ahead" she says" love you j" she shouts on her way

"Love you" I shout back.

"Sooo......" I begin

"Do you have a boyfriend?"he ask me catching me totally off guard.

"No and I'm not going to any time soon" I say a frown deeply going to his face immediately.

"Why?"

I shrug "not allowed to"

"Oh"

"Yeah"

"We'll do you want to hang out this weekend we could go to the park?" he kindly ask me.

Should I? He will take as a hope and I'm not dating any time soon. although maybe he's just being friendly. Plus I will have a lot of homework to do and ....

"Janell did you hear me?"

"Oh sorry I was thinking" I apologize my cheeks heating up.

"So What'da ya say"he ask giving me a cheesy grin?

"Sure why not?"

"Cool I'll catch you later" he walks away giving me a wink.

When I turn around I see a furious Harry. When we lock eyes he angrily stomps away. okay? Walking back to shy someone stops me grabbing me by my wrist already expecting it to be Tanner.

"I already said ye-"I was cutt off by looking at electrical green eyes.

"What did he say to you?"he growls.

"W-what" I stutter

"You heard me"he said with more annoyance in his voice.

"He asked me out on a date" I said shyly.

With that he turned away and starred walking away. I was about to turn around when I saw him waking towards Tanner. I saw as he shouted his name as soon as he saw his face his fist came in contact with his face. I caught Tanner off guard but quickly recovered hitting him back. I ran towards trying to stop them

"Harry.....Tanner ..stop please!"

I shouted I tried grabbing Tanner shoulder but making me land on the floor hard. Harry snapped his head in my direction

"I'm gonna f ucking kill you" Harry shouted his veins sticking out of his neck.

Tanner quickly ran over to me

"Janell I'm so so sorry I thought you were some one else are you ok?" his face softening.

Before I could respond some held my hand and helped me.

"No she's no okay and I'm not f ucking finished with you " Harry shouted in his face

"Why did you fight him harry?" I asked him.

He didn't answer he just kept going to the nurses completely ignoring me. He had his arm around my waist helping me. Him still holding we walked in a awkward silence until I decided to break it.

"Why did you fight him?" I asked him quietly.

No answer

Annoyed, I got out of his grip and walked away. I can't believe he thinks he can just beat up a guy just because he asks me out on a date. Its not like he cares anyway, right?

"Janell! Wait!"

I just kept walking then I feel once again making my back hurt more than already has.Then I felt a pair of big strong hands lift me.

"You shouldn't be walking you could get hurt" he spoke in a soft voice.

"Come on" he says lifting me up bridal style.

"Harry put me down I'm to heavy for you I'm gonna break you!" I say trying to squirm out of his grip but it hurts too much too move.

It was true I'm way to heavy for him. It was true I lost a lot of weight during summer but I still felt very self conscious.

" Oh shush you weigh as light as a feather" he says giving me a glare.

Groaning, I gave up.

When we arrived at the office there was a lady with black short hair and light blue eyes who looked in her forty years looking confused. Harry set me down on the chair. And turned his attention to the nurse.

"Uh she fell while trying to uh.... look for her class" he tells the nurse lying.

" Okay we'll you can go back to class and I'll take care of her thank you for bringing her" she says.

He looks at me with disappointment in his eyes. Then a different look almost as if he asking me permission if he can go I give him a small nod and he gives me a smile and leaves me here with a million questions.
