"Mommy, I don't want Froot Loops! I want Lucky Charms!" Sera whined, for the millionth time since they entered the store.

Isabella let out a heavy sigh, setting the box of Froot Loops into the shopping cart anyway. "Honey, if I get you Lucky Charms, you're just going to eat the marshmallows." She said, "Besides, Froot Loops are just as yummy, aren't they?"

"No! I want Lucky Charms!" Sera huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. She would've stomped her foot if she wasn't riding in the cart along with her brother, Sam. However, it didn't stop her from bouncing in her spot and begin to whine, "I want Lucky Charms! I want Lucky Charms!"

Before Isabella could lose her patience any further, Phineas walked over to the scene after grabbing a box of granola bars and spoke to his daughter, "Hey, behave! You're not gonna get any cereal if you keep acting like this."

"But Daddy-" She pouted.

"No buts." Phineas interrupted, "You're going to eat what Mommy buys you and that's that."

Isabella gave her husband a small smile, silently thanking him for handling it so well. Sera really seemed to respect her father more and responded better to his disciplines. Suppose it was just that special father-daughter bond that Isabella never had, and would never understand.

Grocery shopping was usually a nightmare for them, especially now that they were stocking up for Ferb and Vanessa—who'd be arriving in the next day or so.

"Wait, where's Nick?" Isabella asked, noticing their eldest's absence.

On cue, the six-year-old popped his head up from the bottom part of the cart, exclaiming something gibberish to surprise his parents. Phineas was unphased by his son's attempt, but Isabella nearly dropped her purse out of fright. "Nicholas Flynn! Don't scare your pregnant mother like that!" She exclaimed.

Nick laughed and crawled out so he could stand up. "Sorry, Mommy! But you used to love when I'd surprise you, right?"

"Yes, but that was when I wasn't carrying your little sister in me." She retorted, rubbing her stomach to emphasize her point.
Nick just rolled his eyes and looked up at his father, "What about you, Dad? Did I scare ya?"

Phineas blinked and nodded, "Yeah, yeah sure, son."

He and Isabella continued to push the shopping cart forward through the aisles, Nick following closely behind them. While Sera would whine about every snack they put in the cart, Sam would just remain quiet and laugh when his sister was told on to.

"Alright, what's next on the list?" Isabella asked, running a hand through her messy black hair (that she didn't bother brushing this morning).

Phineas checked his phone and answered, "Diapers and baby wipes."

Isabella sighed as they walked over to the baby section of the store. "I can't wait till all our kids are potty trained.." She mumbled. "Hey, can you go get the frozens real quick?"

Phineas nodded and took his son's hand, "Sure thing, honey. Come on, Nick."
He led the boy over to the frozen food section which was a couple aisles away. He checked the list again and read it over, "Okay..eggs, waffles,"

"Dad-"

"-ketchup, cheese-"

"Dad!" Nick said again, tugging on Phineas' pant leg.

Phineas sighed and looked down, "What is it, son?"

The boy pointed to the other end of the aisle and asked, "Is that Uncle Baljeet?"

Phineas looked in the direction, seeing that his son's assumption was correct. There stood the tall, dark skinned doctor that had been his closest friend since grade school. And he wasn't alone. He was standing next to his girlfriend, Ginger, with a small basket in his hands that had a couple of smaller items in it.

"Yeah, wanna go say hi?" He asked. Nick grinned excitedly and nodded. He chuckled and led his son over to the couple. But the closer they got, Phineas took notice that the two were not all that happy. In fact, he heard a small bit of an argument as he approached them.

"It's not that big a deal, Baljeet! Why do we have to keep arguing over this?" Ginger asked frustratedly, dropping a carton of milk in the basket.

"Because it needs to be discussed, but you refuse to talk it out calmly with me!"

"Because there is nothing to talk about!"

Phineas was about to back away and suggest that they leave the two alone, but Baljeet glanced over and noticed them. His mood seemed to change in an instant upon seeing his friend. "Phineas!" He grinned.

"Hey, 'Jeet!" Phineas chuckled as they shook hands and patted each other on the back. "It's been a while, man!"

"It has, like five weeks?" The Indian man joked, then looked down at the six-year-old, "Nicholas!"

"Uncle Baljeet!" The boy grinned as he was picked up by his dad's friend. "Ginger!" He said, reaching a hand out for her.

Ginger had attempted to ignore the interaction, but decided to give in. She held Nick's hand and smiled softly, "Hey little one, how are ya?"

"I'm good. School's out, finally!" Nick answered excitedly.

"That's always a good thing." She chuckled.

After Baljeet set Nick down on his feet, Phineas looked at his son and asked, "Hey, why don't you go find Mommy for me?"

"Okay!" The boy then hopped away out of the aisle. Ginger sighed and followed closely behind to keep an eye on him, deciding it was best to keep him supervised in the store. Plus, she wanted to avoid whatever questions Phineas was going to ask, and she would like to see Isabella again.

Phineas put his hands in his pockets and asked, "So, uh, everything okay? You two didn't seem to be getting along that well.."

Baljeet sighed, pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. "We are having a bit of an argument, yes. The other day, I brought up a topic she clearly did not wish to discuss, but now it is all we have been talking about since. So guess who's back is hurting like hell because he has to sleep on the couch?"

Phineas nodded solemnly, "Yeah, been there..what even are you guys arguing about? If you don't mind me asking, of course."

Baljeet shook his head, glancing at the floor. "Well, I suggested that we should have kids someday. But apparently, that utterly offends her and now she claims she will never even want kids."

"Wait, are you guys engaged?!" The redhead asked curiously.

"I wish." Baljeet scoffed. "I would love to marry her, but lately, it seems that will not be happening for a while. All because I want kids on my future. Is that such a crime?"

"No, it makes sense." Phineas said, "I mean, look at me and Izzy. We just turned 30 and we've already got a fourth kid on the way. I'm sure Ginger'll want kids soon, you just gotta be patient with her."

Baljeet nodded, "You are right. I just do not know how to change her mind. I try giving her the pros of having kids, but then she argues by bringing up the cons."

The redhead sighed, "Well, yes, being a parent has its ups and downs. But at the end of the day, it's really the best part of your life."

Isabella walked up to the two—with Nick holding onto her leg—pushing the cart with the two whining kids in it. "Alright, I think I got enough diapers to last us to Wednesday." She informed.
Ginger walked around the cart, giving her boyfriend a knowing look before walking out of the aisle.

Baljeet just sighed, thinking to himself that after seeing whatever she saw while with Isabella, Ginger was never going to change her mind.
