Fourty: Lets go

We Finally land home and my heart drops. I've been waiting for this for so long. I've been waiting for this moment, for this day, since I was a child close to their age.

We quickly catch a cab and make our way back to the Herron's.

Before the cab even stops I'm already unbuckled and ready to jump out, Jack has to hold me in place while the car stops.

"Thank you!" I yell at the cab driver as I quickly jump out

"Here, and thank you." Jack pays the driver while I quickly run inside

"Mom!?" I yell, searching for Mrs. Herron

"In here! We're getting the boys room set up." She yells back

"Oh my god, it's actually happening." I cover my mouth in disbelief as I look around to see the boy's stuff everywhere

"It's actually happening." Myta hugs me and smiles

"Wait wait, if he gave them to me, where are the papers? I have to sign them, right?" I ask excitedly, looking for them

"They're In my nightstand. After you sign we'll turn those ones in, then you can get you the other ones to sign them over to me." Myta smiles as I run off to get the papers

I grab the papers, along side the pen next to it and sign them, the smile on my face not moving.

I stop and look at it then it dawns on me what i just heard. She wants me to sign them over to her? I mean, there's nothing wrong with her. She's the best person i know.... but i finally have them. They're finally, legally with me. After so many years of them having to go through utter shit, after so many years of them wanting to just leave with me.... and she wants me to give them away again? 

I get snapped out of my thoughts by a small knock on the doorframe. I look up to see Jack looking at me with concern. 

"What's wrong?" He asks, walking up and taking my hand

"I- I cant sign them over to Myta." I say as i look at the papers i just recently signed 

"What do you mean?" He asks confused 

"I love her with my whole heart, i do. She's been nothing but amazing to the boys and i. She practically raised us. But.... i don't know. Maybe it's stupid, but i just want the boys with me. I'm with you now, and i'm loving every second of being in LA, and seeing Zach everyday for the first time in years, everything's just so much better now. Yeah we have our little issues, but it's nothing compared to what we went through here...." I ramble on and jack just pulls me into a hug 

"Well, i guess we'll just have to sit down together as a group and figure something out  You, Myta, Zach and I. But no matter what, they're safe now, and so are you." He smiles as he looks down at me 

"Thank you." i smile back and we walk back to the living room 

We all sit around the kitchen table to discuss where the boys will stay

"So let me get this straight, you want the boys to live in la with you? Nikki, you don't even have a place of your own, how can you house the boys?" Myta says shaking her head

"I'll get a place, even if it's small. I just want them to be with me. I know you want wants best for them, Mama. But i do too, and i think what's best for them is with me. I'm not saying you're bad for them, because you're amazing. You've taken such good care of us. But just think this is something that needs to happen." I try to explain to Myta, but she just shakes her head 

"Nikki, think about this  You're wanting to take the boys from here, where they have a house, friends and a mother, and put them where? In a little apartment in the city where they don't know anyone? that's not reasonable." Myta says sternly 

"How the fu-" i start to get frustrated when jack cuts me off

"I'll help her, Myta. We'll get a house, We'll get a good place where they can have their own rooms and places to play. They'll be in a good school, it may have to be online but it'll be good. They'll make friends and have places to go to have fun  They'll be safe, Myta. I promise." Jack reassures her

She signs loudly as she looks between the three of us 

"Mom, I think this will be good for them. And if it's not, if we're all wrong, we know exactly where to come." Zach smiles softly at his mom and she takes a deep breath

"Fine. But if anything, and i mean anything at all goes wrong you bring them back here." She says sternly, before she smiles softly at us

"Thank you, mama." I say happily as i run up and hug her 

"I'll call logan, He'll have is a house before we get back." Jack laughs as he gets on his phone 

"If he doesn't answer call Jake!" I smile as i go off to find the boys

"Why Jake?" Jack asks 

"Because they're together today filming something." i reply and he shrugs 

I find the boys and tell them the plan and they seem to be excited about it. 

i just hope it works out like we're planning it to ...
