I was sitting in the chair downstairs, listening to the boys, mumbling to each other on the couch.
It's nearly 8:30. We have to be down to get Jess in a few minutes and the only one we we're waiting on was Ashlyn. She'd been straightening her hair for the longest time. Complaining that it was the most important.
We had spent the last few hours dying her hair a red-ish color, similar to mine. She said she liked it and wanted to match, I was all for it. It looked good on her. Better than it did on me, for sure.
"Alright guys! I'm ready to go!" Ashlyn shouted, walking into the room, converse in hand. She had on a tight black and blue dress and some kind of leggings. They looked lacey.
She stood in the middle of the doorway, pulling on her shoes. After she did, she looked at us, all conversation had gone silent.
"Jesus.." Calum breathed. "Your girlfriend is hot."
The other two nodded in unison. I stood up, walking over to Ashlyn.
"Wow.." was all I could manage to get out. She looked up at me, her cheeks tinted a light pink.
"You.. You didn't tell me what kind of thing this was.. so I just went with versatile.." She smiled, leaning up and pressing her lips to mine.
"We need to go get Jess.." I chuckled. "But it's chilly out.. So here.." I took the flannel off from around my waist and pulled it over her shoulders.
"Thank you..." She smiled, looking towards the boys. "Close your mouths already and get up. Jess is waiting." She took my hand, pulling me out to the car. She and I took the very back seat, Calum in the one in front of us and Luke called shotgun. Ash as usual, was driving.
After a few minutes we were stopped in front of the building and Ash was inside getting Jess. They had been in there for nearly 15 minutes. Leaving early was apparently a good idea.
Moments later Ashlyn and Jess were running out of the building, and climbing into the car. Jess had on a dress that was similar to Ashlyn's, just instead of blue and black hers was red and black. It looked good, but I think Ashlyn looked better. To be fair, I am kinda biased though. I mean she is my girlfriend.
"Hi baby!" She smiled, leaning against me as Jess climbed in beside Cal. You could tell she was freaking put inside. She'd get used to it.
"Hi guys!" She smiled.
"Hey, Jess! We've heard lots about you!" Ashton smiled at her in the mirror and turned the car back on.
"Wow..." I whispered against Ashlyn's ear. "I've never seen him look at anyone like that.."
She giggled, kissing me gently.
"I've seen that look.." She wrapped her arms around me. I looked at her, slightly confused.
"You look at me like that.." She blushed, looking at her feet. I smiled and kissed the top of her head.
"Woah... You think?..."
"Maybe" she giggled. I laced my fingers with hers and sat quietly the rest of the ride, listening to stories and other things that Jess had to say. She was the complete opposite of Ashlyn. Very loud. Kind of to an annoying extent, but not yet there. The boys seemed to like it. Ashlyn was a little quieter.. In social situations anyway. I think its cute.
Once we got to the house we were supposed to be at, we got out and walked inside. It was so loud, and Ashlyn kept her hand in mine tightly.
"Come on.. I'll get you a drink.." I chuckled. She smiled and followed me through the house. I said hi to whoever said hi back, but I was focused on Ashlyn, who wandered away from me to a cooler that was on the counter and picked up a beer.
"Hey, babe.. What are you doing with that? That's a man's drink, honey." A man walked over to her and she immediately looked uncomfortable. I went to her, wrapping an arm around her waist.
"She's my girlfriend. And she can drink whatever she wants. Leave her alone."
He looked at me, then back to her. After he got the hint, he walked away. I leaned into her gently, kissing her neck. She giggled, popping the cap off and taking a drink of it.
After a few more drinks, she was giggly and loud, dancing with me in the middle of everyone. She was only buzzed. This was going to be a night I don't want to forget.
