Jintao paced around the room, processing the story.
"Are you sure he was a hybrid?"
"Heterochromia and telepathy? I mean, he sounds like a hybrid to me," Fangsu replied. Tungmei thought about that night, the day she saw the shadow in the alleyway.
Jintao suddenly stopped, nodding her head. "Alright," she said. "We're gonna keep on going like nothing happened. We're gonna move out of here, but I'll keep an eye on this matter."
"Mrs. Yang," Tungmei interrupted. "If we don't take action, things'll get bad again.
"Don't worry," Jintao said calmly. "Act normal. In the meantime, I'll be taking things up to them."
"Them?" Tungmei pressed. She scanned the determined spark in Jintao's eyes. Her eyes darted to the girls as she turned around, nodding.
"The High Council."
