He grabbed my hand and lead me away from the party. He lead me down another corridor into another room I was sure this had to be his bed room. He took a seat on the couch in the center of the room facing his bed and gestured for me to have a seat next to him.
I obliged and instead I took a seat on the floor across from him. I am not sure why I didn't just sit next to him. I think his intense stare makes me nervous. Any way I can't change my mind now I just have to get comfy and figure it out.
"You could have just sat next to me Liv. I promise I won't bite... hard anyway!" he said with a devilish smirk.
I didn't know what to say so I just lowered my gaze and I felt my cheeks blush in embarrassment. What is it with this guy that has me so flustered. I have never been this awkward around a guy before. He made me smile and laugh and it was exactly what I needed. We talked for what seemed like a few mins but was actually hours. It was nice and refreshing. I didn't expect that from him. He seemed so different and I liked that about him.
He told me about his childhood. His mom passed away giving birth to him. That just broke my heart. His dad was the only family he had left until he passed away last year. He was on his own and living life to the fullest. I envied him in that moment. Realizing I have always had everything so easy and this amazing guy has had a rough life and he finds me interesting.
I had barely even glanced at my phone during our conversation and when I did I realized I had several missed texts and calls from Charlie. Of course she met up with Owen and was abandoning me to go home with him. Figures!!
"Is there something wrong Liv?" James asked me staring at my phone.
"Charlie ditched me for my brother!" I explained. "I don't have a ride home. She scheduled the Uber and I don't have the app!"
"I can give you a ride or you could just crash here if you want? I don't mind!" He asked.
"I don't want you to have to leave your own party. I don't mind staying here. Are you sure? I don't want to impose." I replied.
"You're fine. It's not like anyone misses me out there anyway. I am perfectly happy spending the rest of the night in here talking with you." He suggested.
"That would be nice. I would really enjoy that." I replied shyly looking up at him through my lashes.
"Wait here!" he said as he got up off the floor and walked back towards the party. "I'm going to see how many people are left out there and convince them to leave."
"Okay. Do you need any help?" I asked.
"Nope. I got it. Make yourself comfy. I'll be right back" he stated.
I smiled at him as he left the room. I suddenly got super nervous. OMG!! Was this really happening? Was I going to stay the night with James after just one night of talking? I can't have a repeat of what happened with Jax. We have to take this slow. Whatever this was.
