Chapter 9 - The past

Y/NS POV

"N/N there you are!" I heard a voice say

Chloe laid down besides me catching her breath

"..you ran?"

"Trying to find you? Obviously!" Said Chloe

"...your slow at running and you waste your stamina..slow down more."

"Such encouraging words N/N." Chloe said pretending to be hurt by my words.

"Y/N and Chloe, mind if I joined you guys?" A new voice said and I looked up seeing Taehyun.

"Oh it's you."

"Sure!" Chloe smiled and taehyun smiled back laying down next to me.

"..."

"Y/N, do you want to talk about what just happened?" Taehyun asked looking at me

"...you really want to know?"

"Of course." Taehyun smiles gently

I look at Chloe and she nods standing up.

"I'll go back to class now" Chloe heads back to the school building leaving us alone

I stand up and look down at Taehyun

"Let's go out for a walk. I'll explain as we walk."

"Sure" taehyun smiles at me and stands up too, "where shall we go?"

"...let's go to a local cafe. Schools over anyways."

Timeskip

We are currently sitting down drinking our drinks.  (Ur choice on your drink)

"So...where should I start.." I said twirling the straw of my drink

"Maybe by how you and Marie know each other?" Taehyun suggests looking at me

"Right..so it was a long time ago.  Elementary school actually."

"Uh huh.." taehyun nods following along

"Marie was my desk mate.  We just easily connected and talked to each other. We were friends...she was one of my close friends"

"I see." Taehyun tilts his head slightly and I notice it finding it slightly attractive but I clear my thoughts.

"Anyways, usually elementary school friends and middle school friends are the friends you dont normally keep in your future life."

"In 8th grade, I was mostly hated by the whole school, at least the girl majority" I laugh coldly

"Why?" Taehyun frowns

"Attention.  I had too much attention.  You can have hated or loved attention..I was getting hated attention," I take a deep breath before resuming, "why? All because I was friends with the popular boys."

"..." taehyun looks at me his expression shocked

"A lot of people don't get hated because of being friends with the popular people but..I started receiving rumours, mocking, desk writing...ect.."

"Wow...but why just you?" Taehyun asks taking a sip if his drink

I also take a sip of my drink and twirl the straw around deeply thinking.

"I used to wonder that question and I still do." I sigh, "why me? Other people were friends with the popular boys too but to gang up on me? Just why?"

"I never really managed to answer that question.  But I did find out who was behind this."

"Oh?" Taehyun looks at me intensely

"..one day I was in the bathroom stall silently crying to myself when I heard 5 girls talking."

"They were laughing and talking about how funny it was that i was the center of all the hatred.  How stupid I was to cross them"

"I honestly didnt care until I heard a familiar voice amongst them.  It was Marie."

Taehyun looks at me his eyes widening again.

"She was laughing and saying how stupid I was to trust her and going along with the others...I couldnt take it anymore then and I slammed open my bathroom door and slapped Marie before leaving."

"The next day, it got worse.  It kept getting worse and worse...only Chloe and Caren still talked to me.  By this time I requested the boys not to talk to me anymore...I sooner or later became the laughing stock of the school."

"Then. We graduated and I never saw them again. Until now.."

"...I see. So that's the reason you reacted that way." Taehyun muttered softly loud enough for me to hear.

"I know it was probably stupid of me to act that way considering how long it has been." I laugh a empty laugh.

"No. I don't think so." Taehyun looks at me, "give me your phone."

"...what?"

"Just give me your phone Y/N" taehyun says

I hesitate but unlock my phone and gives it to him and he presses a few  things before returning it back to me.

I look at it and taehyuns name was now in my contacts

"You probably wouldn't want to be friends with us because of what happened but, whenever you feel upset you can contact me." Taehyun says smiling

"...thank you.."

"Well we should go our separate ways now. Take care Y/N"

"Ah wait"

Taehyun looks at me

"..tell the others I said hi."

"No problem." Taehyun smiles and leaves the cafe

...I feel like I've gotten a weight off my shoulders..
