Waking up, I felt a pain on the back side of my head. As I opened my eyes, my blurred vision distorted the figures that appeared to be in front of me.

A monotone voice was speaking, "Honey, are you awake?

Still unable to open my eyes, I laid there.

I mumbled, "D-dad.. is that you?".

My vision started coming into place again.

My father clutched the back of my head into the palm of his hand and gently hugged me, squishing my face into the sleeve of his armpit.

"Don't ever scare me again, angel.", he said with tears filling his emerald eyes.

Where am I?..

"The hospital," he gave a light laugh.

The only reason my father was so scared is because my mother passed away a few years ago. It's still really hard to talk about, but when he heard I was in the hospital it was even harder especially because he didn't know what was wrong.

The nurse came rushing in and checked out one of the machines that went off.

My father stepped aside. As she walked towards me, a smile formed on her face.

"Hey sweetie! How are we doing?".

I'm okay, I replied.

"We're just going to check your vitals out over here to make sure all is going well, we wouldn't want you to go home being sick," she said calmly."

She looked at the machine and made sure all was going when while I twiddled with my fingers nervously

"So, it appears that you blacked out due to something that spiked your heart rate. We aren't completely sure of what the cause was, but just try to take it easy when you get out of here."

I will, thank you.

She turned to the side where my father was standing and closed the curtain motioning him to follow her way.

"Hello Mr. Montgomery, so I just wanted to touch base with you based on what's going on with your daughter. Has this ever happened before?"

"Before my wife passed away a few years ago, my daughter began having these episodes. Most of the time she denies it happening, but it often ends up with her blacking out and not remembering what happened. I'm not certain on what, but no it's not the first time if that's what you're asking."

"I'm so very sorry for your loss," she said apologetically.

"Thank you.."

"As for your daughters condition, I recommend taking things easy for now. In addition, maybe she should take the day off from school tomorrow."

"Will do, thank you."

When my dad and the nurse exited the room, I heard a voice

"Guen, are you awake?".

As he approached my hospital bed, I felt I was beginning to become tense. My palms started to sweat, I began to panic. Slowly feeling the heat that began to rise to my cheeks as he looked down in my direction. I snapped my head away to the opposite direction before he could notice I was staring while getting lost into his beautiful grey eyes. I could still feel his eyes on me, but I remained calm trying not to give any indication of my thoughts.

It was Alex.
