One the way back to her house walking through the Clifford estate, seeing Mrs. Clifford, feeling a little nervous, she waved over.
"Hello, Sweetie what are you doing over here?" she asked with a soft voice
Violet knew she was always welcome over at the Cliffords, she knew the real reason for the question was because Mrs. Clifford saw her leaving James' workshop.
Violet replied with honesty,
"Oh, I heard James playing a beautiful piece of music and came to listen." she paused her face scrunched"I didn't know James could play." Mrs. Clifford smiled
"Yes, he is. Although doesn't usually let others watch him." Violet was a little shocked at that statement, and wasn't sure if she should tell Mrs. Clifford about their lesson tomorrow. She quickly dismissed the thought and figured she would let James tell her.
"Oh, well, I am honored. But I must get back to my house before mother worries."
Mrs. Clifford simply nods her head and pulls Violet in for a hug.
Violet entered her house soon after, immediately her mother comes from the kitchen and asked,"Where have you been? You should've been back by 2. It's 45 minutes past that."
"Sorry, but I heard a violin playing over at the Clifford's, so I stopped by. Did you know James plays? He's quite good too" Violet said, starting to smile
Violet's mother looked shocked at her words, "No, I didn't. But you went over to the Cliffords?"
"Uuh, yeah. I'm going back tomorrow too." Violet smoothly said
"Oh!" her mother couldn't help the surprised sound
"Why?"
"He's going to give me a some lessons, violin lessons" Violet answered her mother. Violet didn't say any more to the matter, and simply waved off her mother questions and walked to her bedroom.
Plopping onto her bed she thought about James, the way he would push up his round glasses up the bridge of his nose,
'He is quite handsome. In a manly but cute way.' She quickly dismissed herself from thinking anymore, and drifted to sleep humming the song he was playing. She was abruptly woken from her mother.
" Wake up! Its 7am."
"I'm up." she looked around her room confused,
'Did I really sleep 16 hours?' She thought
Shocked she began to get dressed, and as she descended the stairs she remembered about James and their lesson. Smiling he walked into the kitchen and sat next to her father who kissed her on the head.
"Good morning, Sweetie. How are you, I didn't see you last night." her father stated
"Oh, yeah I don't know what happened I conked out."
"So, you hung out with James yesterday"
Violet groaned loudly, "Please don't make this a big deal, I heard him play his violin, and he offered me a lesson today."
Her father smiled and nodded.
They ate in silence till,
"Wait, when did James start playing the violin?""Awhile I think." Violet wasn't really sure how long he has been playing.
Her father left for work and Violet began to do her work around the house. She went to do her last chore, clean her room, but when she got into her room, she saw it was 11. Violet panicked a little not realizing how fast her time flew when she was busy. She quickly made her bed, put her clothes away in the proper drawer, and cleaned up her desk. Putting the pens in the cup and stacking her journals and reading books.Looking at her appearance, she quickly changed in a summer dress with sandals not worrying about her face. She put on lip gloss and a few strokes of mascara. She threw her hair into a bun on the way out the door.
