Fire & Plasma: The Blaze

Chapter Three

The loud squeaking of the chair alerts me of Lucian getting up to follow me, I step into the room, waiting for him to come into the room as well. He walks in and looks around, almost in awe.

"You've got a sick set up here Sia, you must be rich to afford all this" He declares, as he looks at the hot tub as if judging if he should go in it or not. I unlock my phone to text him.

'Are you going in or not, because I am.' He looks at the text and shrugs, pulling off his shirt and shorts then steps into the hot water. I follow suit, pulling my tank top off as well and the baggy shorts and set them on the counter.

I blush slightly as I step into the tub of heated water, My legs merging together, turning into the bright blue shark tail I've grown used too, the same color as my eyes without my color dulling contacts. My tan skin swaps with a smooth grey color, and webbing grows in between my fingers, the same bright blue as my tail. My soft rounded ears trade out for ear fins with, again, bright blue webbing.

"Wow, that's cool! My transformation is so much more boring." Lucian exclaims after the changes stop happening. I pop my phone off the edge of the hot tub, I left it closer this time so I don't have to struggle like I did last time and thankfully it has a waterproof case on.

I send a quick message saying 'At least you can control it! If I get wet, part or all of me will change!' He views the message as soon as it pops onto his phone screen.

"Well, that must suck! So you can't go out when it's raining then?" Lucian questions with a little too much interest. I nod, stating without words that rain would change me, so if it rains, I'm not going anywhere soon.

"Well that's certainly shitty for you, I only change if I want to, wanna see?" Lucian says loudly, and without waiting for an answer, his hand slowly changes to a softly glowing indigo talon with razor-sharp claws. I carefully scan over the pointed scales, before softly running my hand across Lucian's talon. The scales are surprisingly soft and flat against his skin. He looks uncomfortable and pulls his hand away from mine, changing it back to his normal human hand, and stretching out his fingers.

I turn my phone back on to message him, asking what exact type of Mythical he is. He groans, knowing this question would come eventually, and since I already revealed mine, well he actually found out without me wanting him to be nevermind that.

He mumbles under his breath, but my hearing is much better than my eyesight, and I decipher it as "A dragon." I could have guessed that by his personality, he's obvious now that I know for sure.

I look at him, directly into his eyes, it seems he found his other contact or got a new one. He huffs, turning his head away from me, puffing his cheeks out like a child. I mentally sigh and slide down deeper into my hot tub so only my shoulders and head are above the water

I turn my attention to the tv, ignoring the fact that at least half of my tail is wrapped around Lucian at this point, but he doesn't seem to care, or at least he isn't voicing it.

I jolt suddenly when I feel Lucian move his hands over my tail, and I overhear him giggling at my reaction. I stick out my tongue and flip him off, telling him without words to shut his mouth. He just laughs louder, full on cackling, it's quite impressive how loud his laugh is, and his sharp teeth showing as he does so just makes it even more intimidating. I just go back to watching the show on the tv, but it seems Lucian wants to talk to me. I pick up the tv remote and turn the tv off, and throw the remote at Lucian's head, trying to get him to leave me alone. He catches the remote and sets it down on the edge of the hot tub.

I suddenly hear a loud knock at the door, and the sound of it opening and someone walking in. I turn to Lucian as he pulls himself out of the hot tub. I grab his arm as he sets his feet on the floor, and shake my head aggressively.

"What, someone's here, I should see who it is since you kind of can't in your situation," Lucian says, almost growling at me. I release him, shrug, and roll my eyes as Lucian gets dressed, I only know one other person who has my door code, my father, and I don't think he'll take to kindly to someone else in my apartment, even if it's another mythical.

I pull myself out of my hot tub and dry off in record time, I can hear Lucian and my dad talking in loud voices, it seems they're fighting. I snap back into my human form and pull on my tank top and shorts and rush out the door to see my dad in Lucian's face yelling. I run up to them both and push my father out of the way, which is pretty hard seeing as he's almost a half foot taller than me and much more muscular.

"What's the meaning of this human in your home Silas?" my father yells loudly, in his gruff and commanding voice. I quickly sign out a shortened version of who Lucian is, and why he's in my apartment. He swipes his hand through his hair and sighs, Lucian just looks at me confused, and a little bit afraid.

"So you're a dragon? Huh, never met one before, and I don't know if I'd like to have one in my son's home!" my dad yells gruffly, and walks up to Lucian, and full on glares at him. My dad is pretty intimidating if you couldn't guess, he is tall, muscular, loud, and above all that, he almost always wears very fancy suits.

My dad almost throws Lucian out the door, I make as much noise as I can in protest, but it just sounds like a wheezing fish out of water, which I kind of am, but never mind that. My dad turns around and glares at me before stomping into my guest room, that he uses when he rarely decides to visit me.

'It just had to be today didn't it dad' I mentally groan to myself as I gather the things I left in the relaxation room and put it back in my bedroom. I clean up the rest of the house before I go to lay down in my bed. Soon enough the sun sets and the stars come out, and crickets chirp in loud symphony as I drift into the cationic relaxation of sleep.
