Words: 800 (again, sorry for the short chapter)
Michael and Calum had been best friends for as long as they could remember, when they were younger they did everything together. Every weekend, and a surprisingly large amount of weekdays, was spent sleeping over at each other. They took turns in who's house they would stay at, and their parents didn't mind as long as they did what they were supposed to do; such as go to school and do their homework.
Now the two boys are 16 &17 years old and still best friends. They've kept up their sleepover tradition, but not as often anymore. You see, when the boys had turned 15 & 16 they both started chasing the same girl. They both claimed to be madly in love with her, and did everything they could think of to win her over. Their friendship was slowly but surely starting to fall apart, but neither of the two admitted it. It was obvious though, everyone who knew what kind of friendship the two boys used to have could easily see that soon they'd no longer be talking together if they kept this up.

"Mikey, I'm telling you; she likes me better! Why can't you just get that through that thick head of yours?" The two boys were standing near the school entrance, it was a Thursday and school would start in just a few minutes. "Because Calum," he could see the kiwi boy tense but decided to ignore it. Michael only ever used nicknames for him, never his real name, and it scared the other boy slightly. "What makes you think that she would like you anyway? You're nothing special, you're just you. You haven't even kissed anyone yet, you're pathetic!" As soon as the words had left his lips Michael regretted them. He hadn't realized what he was saying, nor had he realized the growing crowd of students that was standing around them, watching as the former best friends fought. "C-Cal, I didn't- I didn't mean that" he reached out, wanting nothing more than to just hold the vulnerable boy.
He knew Calum had suffered from depression when they were around 14 years old, and once Michael walked in on him trying to commit suicide, fresh cuts all over his arms and thighs. He also knew that the poor boy still had trouble with accepting the way he looked, despite the confident and sassy act he put on. The world seemed to have slowed down and the only thing in his focus was Calum. It was as if it happened in slow motion, the first tears rolling down his cheeks, his shaking hands and obvious breathing problems... Then all of a sudden someone must have hit fast forward because in only seconds Calum had took off running out of the school property and down the road, not once stopping to look back. "Shi- fu.ck! FU.CK! Fu.ck fu.ck fuc.king stupid! How could I- why?"
The crowd parted, most of them went to class, some throwing a last sympathetic glance towards Michael who still hadn't moved since the other boy ran. He was pulling at his hair, screaming before continuing to mumble incoherent words about how stupid he was, while looking around helplessly, hoping that Calum would appear to tell him that it was okay. That he was okay. But deep down he knew that wasn't the case. He knew Calum most likely would do something stupid, and he had to do something, he couldn't let him make that mistake. Especially not when it was his fault. He started running in the same direction as the broken boy had taken a few minutes before him. Praying that he'd be there in time to save him.

"CALUM!! CALUM ANSWER ME, PLEASE!!" The red haired boy was stood in the middle of a unfamiliar street, screaming for his friend. He regretted wearing only skinny jeans and a tank top, he didn't know when, but at some point it had started raining, but at least the raindrops would wash away the tears cascading down his cheeks. "CALUM!" he tried again, his voice breaking at the end as he fell to his knees, hiding his face in his hands. "fu.ck, where the fu.ck are you Cal?" he wiped his face, to no use, getting back up after having 5 maybe 6 drivers cuss him out for blocking the road. He took a quick look around and spotted a river further down the road. He quickly ran towards the bridge that was buildt over it, spotting a boy who looked like he was about to jump. "CALUM, NOO!!" he came too late. All he could do was stand there and watch as his best friend fell towards all the sharp rocks. "No, please no. Don't leave me Cal, you can't leave me. Not now."
Another update, I might make a second part for this one. I hope you like it, despite how short it is. xx
