Words: ?? The counting thingy is acting stupid and won't tell me -_-
"CALUM, NOO!!" He came too late. All he could do was stand there and watch as his best friend fell towards all the sharp rocks. "No, please no. Don't leave me Cal, you can't leave me. Not now."

Michael quickly got off the bridge and ran down the small hill, falling over a few times. "Cal?! Cal answer me, please!" he spots Calum's body, floating in the middle of the river. Without thinking he jumps in, swimming out and pulling him back onto solid ground. "C'mon sweetie, please wake up, for me?" No reaction. "I can't-" he stopped, cutting himself off with his crying. "I can't live without you.." The crying boy, nearly out of breath, tugs desperately at his hair. What was he supposed to do?! He tried to remember what they had told them at school but had to give up because the one person he couldn't live without was dying in his hands, and he was freaking out. So he did what he could and called for an ambulance, crying into the younger boy's neck, begging him not to leave him. "Please don't die on me Calum"

When the ambulance came to pick up Calum they wouldn't let Michael come with them so the poor boy ran all the way to the hospital, desperate to know that his friend would be alright. When he finally got there he was told to sit and wait, so he did. He waited for 9 hours and 14 minutes, together with Calum's family. But when the doctor came and said that he was stable Michael wasn't allowed into the room. "Family only." And that was it really, he couldn't stand the aching feeling inside of him, it hurt so bad and he just needed to see him. Hear it from Calum himself, have him say that he was okay, that he forgave him. Most of all he needed his hugs, Michael's world was tearing apart and the only thing that could help was his best friend.
They threw him out. he woke up on the curb, outside the hospital's main entrace. He could vaguely remember people trying to get him outside, a needle and then falling asleep. He groaned, getting up slowly, feeling a bit dizzy. "Ugh, what the hell?" he looked around, remembering Calum, who was laying inside the huge building, and ran inside. He ran right past the front desk, seeing as he already knew where he was going. When he got there he made sure no one was around before sneaking into the room. Closing the door quietly, he stopped to lean on it as he breathed in deeply. He made it.
"C-Cal?" his voice sounded vulnerable as he took a few steps towards the hospital bed. He didn't like hospitals, the memory of last time Calum tried this printed into his mind whenever someone mentioned the word. "You look like sh.it." At first his brain didn't register it, then he realized that someone actually did talk, it wasn't just wind or his imagination. He laughed, not because it was funny, but because he was relieved. Calum was alive! He was actually alive!! It wasn't just a dream, it was real and he was alive; he was breathing real air and speaking real words. "I .. you- you're..." he trailed of, not knowing what to say. Calum did though. "Alive. Yeah, I noticed." After that the two boys spent an unknown amount of time just staring at each other. A nurse would open the door to check up on Calum, approximately every 5th minute, to see if he had everything he needed but as soon as she saw the two boys she closed the door again not wanting to disturb the two.
"You know I didn't mean it, right?" Michael was the first to break the silence, causing Calum's mind to spin, trying to figure out what to say. His brain, for some reason, wouldn't process the red haired boy's words. "I-I.. okay." Was all he could get out. "No, it's not. I don't," he looked away, licking his lips in the process. The kiwi boy couldn't help but look down at his friends lips, wondering what they would feel like against his own, but blushing as he realized what he was thinking about. "I don't know why I said it, I really don't. I just did. I didn't mean any of it, okay?" Calum made sure he had the plastic thingy in before he replied, with one of his cheeky smiles that made Michael slightly dizzy, but in a good way "Okay." Silence. "Fu.ck you, man." They stared at each other before falling into fits of laughter.

It had been a day and the two boys had spent every second together, sharing Calum's hospital bed. The older boy even stayed with him during the night, despite the hospital not wanting him there in the first place. "Mikey?" "Mm?" "Am I pathetic? For not kissing anyone yet, I mean?" "No, it's perfectly fine! You know I wasn't telling the truth, love" he mumbled the last few words into Calum's cheek, giving him a quick peck there. "But I'm 16! Most people our age have already had sex several times! And I haven't even kisse-" he was cut off by a pair of lips against his own. "Mph" his words were muffled by the older boy's lips. "Shut up" he stayed quiet after that, or, at least he tried. After a while he started carefully kissing back, whimpering softly when Michael nibbled at his bottom lip. The older pulled back, smirking at the sound. "There, now you've got nothing to worry 'bout." Calum, who still hadn't quite processed the situation yet just stared at him. "Right."
They didn't speak much after that, just stared at the tv. But they were good though, they didn't have anymore problems to work out, with each other anyways.. All thoughts about the girl who started all of this was gone. So they stayed like that until Calum was allowed to go back home, watching old episodes of friends, sharing small kisses and muttering compliments in hushed voices, almost as if anyone heard it would be the end of the world.
Right, so I didn't really know how to end this, oh well.. Hope it's not as terrible as I think it is. Also, sorry about any spelling mistakes. xx
