Outrunning Karma - Alec Benjamjn

Nikolai's ragged breathing scorched the air. People who just moments earlier were shuffling through their pockets to find no phones to no avail were now screaming at the words which had come out of his mouth.

"Shut up," Nikolai snarled, patience wearing thin. All was silent if you excuse a soft sob now and again. The shit he had to deal with.

Walking up to the loudest person in there, he pulled the man towards him and whispered into his ear, "If you cry now you're going to have a bell of a times later." That only seemed to make him cry more and Nikolai was pressed for time so, as he pushed the middle aged man away, he directed his words to the group in front of him. "How about instead of thinking you're going to die," he took note of the winces and shudders he got from a few of the men and women and grinned despite himself. The dramatic pause seemed to have everyone on edge and so he continued to pocket his hands as he said wickedly, "Decide how you want to live and run the fuck away."

With a screech they began to run about like chickens trying to escape through the doors. Maniacal laughter grabbed their attention. Nikolai was once again on the seat scratching his mangled cheek.

"I forgot to mention, that some of you can NOT leave without punishment but I will let the others go."

"You can't do that to us! We have families!" A rather bold dark skinned woman in a business suit hissed.

"You're right," he nodded while he stood up, "you all do have families but that is exactly the point." He sauntered over to the woman and growled, "You, Izabell Grant, have done unjust things towards many and I wish I take revenge for it but unfortunately," he grabbed her face harshly, causing fear to flash across her face. "Unfortunately, it is not my revenge to take." He ripped his hands away teeth beginning to ache.

As he walked through the group of doctors he stopped in the middle and sta directly into the blue eyes of  doctor's assistant. "You John Kamal, Hillary Nixon, Gibson Bhun, Mark Azami, and Rosè Lopez." Heads lowered and the named stepped forward out of fear. "You all have created many great things in life but the devastation you filled others with can only be forgiven with justice."

Nikolai walked all of them to the room they exited, and sent the unnamed out, nodding his head as they ran out the now unlocked doors. As soon as the last person was out of eyeshot, he faced the now stone faced criminals now sitting at the conference table.

With a large toothy grin he snarled, "Now, let's begin."
