EPILOGUE.
"In case you were wondering because I'm sure you are, business has been alright. People come and go all the time and that's hard with taxes and such. Besides that the businesses I've made with Adam, Joe, and Cyn has been blooming. Money is flowing in like crazy. I'm so glad that I became a partner. It's great! I invest and they do all the work; it's great, really great.
And yes, Jada loves the house. Absolutely adores it. That's right—" I threw my head back and laughed heartily. "—she moved back in with me. It's was tough, new baby and all but definitely worth the struggle. Luke is an amazing, and talented little boy. He gets it from me. He can walk and run now. Boy, the house is madhouse half the time because of that little runt. But I love him.
He looks like Jada, but he has my personality. Cheeky little boy for sure. You would have loved him, Mom. Probably spoiled the crap out of him and feed him all the sweets you can because of his sweet tooth. Dad, you'd probably buy him his first dirt bike. Which before you scold me, I tried, but you know how women work. Jada is sure he'll hurt himself so badly or maybe get a concussion within good reason too. Keeps reminding me of that fact I got my first concussion at three because you got me a dirt bike.
Besides that, everything has been great. Jada and I, we are working on our relationship. Repairing what's been broken. I'm working on that trust and it's going. Slowly, but steady. It's been pretty smooth sailing the last couple months otherwise so I know before long we'll be in tip top shape. Hopefully. I hate to get too cocky now. That's what always broke a man.
And the big question, when will I propose? That is a work in progress.
Don't worry though, it's coming soon. With the way everything is going. I predict one in the next few months. Oh and before I forget, the good news—this one is the best, trust me. Jada is—"
"Dion, are you ready to go, baby?" Jada asked, slipping her hand in mine. Her body tall and strong standing next to me.
I turned towards her and smiled in contentment. Things were going and they were so much more better than last year. "Almost, baby. Is my little Jion holding strong in there?" I ran my hand over her very swollen covered belly.
"Jayon is doing just fine," she said, throwing me a look that clearly read 'don't think I don't know what you're doing'.
"Baby, what did we talk about? The baby's name is going to be Jion."
"Yeah, right." She rolled her eyes lightheartedly. "If I'm the one carrying the baby, then I'm naming the baby."
I pouted. "That's not fair. You named Luke the first time!"
"And I'm supposed to care why?" she asked uncaring. "Besides might I need to remind you why I had to name Luke?"
"Jada!" I whined. "Be nice to me." Then pointed a finger to my lips as my way to forgive her.
She laughed amused. "Poor baby. Yeah, right. It's more like I need to forgive you for trying to stress me out. If I get induced into labor, right here, right now; are you going to take responsibility and give birth for me?"
"Baby, so not fair." I pouted again. Working my puppy dog eyes this time.
That only made her snort and laugh humorously. Turning her back to me, she turned to my parents gravestones and smiled prettily at them. "It was nice visiting you guys, mom and dad. We'll come back to visit again sometime soon. Oh, by the way, please talk Dion out with his ridiculous baby name. I'll be going now. And you—" she pointed a slender finger at me, "—don't take super long. It's getting dark and we still need to go get dinner."
I nodded and looked back at the gravestones of my parents once more. "Well you saw it. Jada is expecting again, and between the both of us, the baby's name will be Jion. She'll come around to the idea soon. We'll come visit again soon!"
Then I turned and ran after my pregnant goddess, the woman I loved, who was already settled in the passenger seat, scolding Luke to sit down properly. I got into the driver seat and told Luke to say bye-bye to his grandparents as we drove away from the cemetery.
A playful banter of the new baby's name entertaining all of us on the way to Timmy's Cafe for dinner. Luke wanting his new brother's name to be Luke Jr. and me wanting Jion, and Jada wanting Jayon.
It was picturesque how lovely it looked to an outsider. A family of three, soon to be welcoming their fourth newest member. Happy and blessed. Enjoying each other's company. Every single member of that family so much more than they ever imagined possible.
They were perfection in all its glory. Together and strong as one unit.
So much more than we were last year.
