"CALLA SENCEN!!! GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!! YOU HAVE SPENT 1 HOUR ON YOUR HAIR AND I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER EXCUSE" I heard Mom shriek. "YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!!!"
This happened nearly every day, so I pretty much already knew what to do. Just wait Mom out and she would stop yelling and try to make Dad get me.
Sure enough, as soon as Mom finished yelling, she muttered about how her kids got this from Keefe and went to go find him to get me up.
Perfect. This gave me just enough time to rig up the bucket. "Kenric!" I whisper-shouted. "You can come out now!"
My younger brother Kenric opened the closet door and slowly crept into my room. "Hey Calla," he said. "Mom's getting dad right?" I nodded, confirming that the plan was in action.
Johnathan poked his head out just barely so that I could just see his two-colored eyes. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" he whispered. "Mom will be SO mad and we will all get in trouble including me! Mom expects me to keep you in line!"
"Come ON Johnathan!" I said pouting. "Dad will be proud of us that his kids inherited his pranking skills!"
The youngest Sencen, Lilly bounded out of the closet. "And," she said. "If Dad doesn't approve, we just blame everything on Dad, just like we usually do!"
Johnathan groaned. "We blame it on Dad because it never works out! Name one time this has worked out!"
"The first time," Lilly pointed out to him. "Mom walked in and was drenched in green glop!"
"Then, she went over to Uncle Dex and blamed it on him!" Kenric said, trying to hold back laughs for our reasons of stealth.
Of course, we weren't actually related to Uncle Dex and Aunt Marella, but we just called them that because our parents were really close with them.
"I hate it when you guys use your photographic memory for pranks," Johnathan grumbled crossing his arms and frowning. "You should be using photographic memory for useful things like...I don't know...THE TEST IN ELVIN HISTORY ON TROLLS????"
Kenric waved his hand. "I know literally everything about trolls! Mom talks about them all the time! She used to have Tarina the Troll as a bodyguard along with-"
"A goblin, a gnome, a dwarf and an ogre!" I finished. "Come on Johnathan! We'll ace the test!"
"We better ace that test," Johnathan said. "I need a good grade in Elvin History."
"Dude," Kenric said. "You have an average of 98.9 in Elvin History! I think you are good."
"But STILL!" Johnathan protested.
"GUYS!" I said snapping my fingers at them. "We need to focus and get this bucket up before Dad comes!" I snapped my fingers and a large white bucket of green glop floated mid-air. Kenric caught it using telekinesis and Lilly helped him float it up to the door.
"Really?" I heard a voice say. My heart sank as I watched Dad step out from behind the oak door. He looked upset. Where had I gone wrong? Dad loved our pranks! But, I watched his ice blue eyes filled with disappointment.
"What's wrong Dad?" Lilly asked as she went over and hugged his waist.
Keefe shook his head. "My kids-" he said, pointing to the green bucket of glop. "Children of the best prankster in the world-" he glanced around the room. "Are-"
"We're so sorry Dad!" Johnathan said, cutting him off. "We'll never, ever do it again! We went wrong, but we promise to never do it again!"
"You better not do this again," Dad said, pointing at the bucket of green glop. "Why in the world are you only using a medium sized bucket for this? For this prank to be successful, you must use a LARGE bucket!"
