Rachel let out a sigh.
"It's been six months, and nothing has changed. We're all worried about him."

"Well, my mother said everything gets better with time. Some people just take longer."

Later that night, Finch sat in front of his canvas, again unable to sleep, and unable to ignore the pain. He was almost ready to give up when there was a crashing noise outside his window. He opened it to find a very familiar blond in a top hat.
"Evening Hyde."

"Well, well, well," Hyde laughed, dusting himself off, "how are you this fine and wretched evening Dr. Woodpecker?"

Finch rolled his eyes at the name, wincing as he shifted himself to allow Hyde to perch on the windowsill.
"In pain as usual. Where are you off to?"

"Only the most infamous den of sin and despair."

Finch raised an eyebrow.
"The Bazar? Exciting."

Hyde smiled widely and gestured to Finch's chair.
"Well, my wonderful Doctor Mockingbird, why don't you ditch that chair of yours and come with me? I heard you can buy morphine for far cheaper than market price."
Hyde nodded towards the table beside the bed, on top of which sat a syringe and several glass vials.
"You're almost out aren't you? How much have you cut your dose? Do you even feel it at this point? Is that why you can't sleep? You and I both know that Jekyll can't afford to buy more as often as you need it."

Finch turned from the window, away from Hyde.
"It's not your business. Get out. Go if you're going. I'm not touching that brace again as long as I live. Don't try to tempt me."

Hyde gave a curt bow and retreated out the window again.
"Fine, I'll go, and just to show I'm sorry, I'll bring you enough morphine to last two months."

Finch said nothing, but Hyde could see the tension in his shoulders relax.

"That's what I figured you wanted. Go ahead, take an extra large dose and go to sleep. When you wake up, it'll be on your table."
