Suddenly, I awake. Everything is pitched black, and nothing can be seen. I glance over to my digital clock, it is 6:49, my alarm will go off any minute now. Beep beep beep beep, beep beep beep beep. It's just one of those ordinary alarm clocks, nothing special about it, that was for sure. I can only ever stand about eight beeps and then I must rush to terminate the beast!
"School." I groan unenthusiastically, nearly realising that it was the best day of the week. Monday. My weekend has gone well and I only wish it would last forever. Honestly I don't mind school, but today is the day of the dreaded results. Don't get me wrong, I think I did pretty well, but you must always have that feeling before opening exam results.
I leave my bed and head across the hall to take a shower, letting my hair down from the night before. I try not to look at myself in the mirror because I know my bed head will look horrendous.
Leaving the bathroom I feel the heat coming from the open window, it must be a warm summers day, and decide to put in a comfortable but skin showing outfit that would be acceptable to wear to school. I choose out a plain white top and some washed out jean shorts, with my trainers and a thin jacket. Looking at myself in my full length mirror (in the least vain possible way), I smile. It's going to be a good day- I hope anyway.
After drying my hair I make my breakfast, something simple not wanting to make a big effort. I pull out the shreddies from the kitchen cupboard and pour them into a bowl, as well as getting myself a drink. Now, personally I'm a milk person, just can't eat dry food. I pull out my phone from my back pocket and go on Instagram. After breakfast I put my bowl, spoon and cup into my clean sink.
Usually I'm the first up, my mum, Stacy, only needs to get to work an hour later than me at school. So she has time to get my little brother to school, he's called Jonas. So I leave them in bed and sneak around quietly, although my mum will wake up by the time I leave for school anyway.I have a bit of time to kill before I have to leave so I grab the remote control for the TV from the sofa's arm and begin to flick through the channels, once settled I sit and watch it. I have about an hour at school today and then we can leave and have about a month to decide our futures. We'll return and fill out our forms, selecting our universities if we so choose and get on with our summers.
The house is pretty open plan, and so when you enter straight ahead is the kitchen but over to the right of it, the living room. They're divided by the spotless counters I guess. But when in the kitchen, straight to the left are the stairs.
When I have had enough of the television I check the time- time to go. So I go over to the right of the door, there's a dresser with draws, on top where we tend to leave our keys in a cute wooden bowl. I collect my car keys and head over to it, locking the front door to my typical two story house on my journey to my baby blue car.
Engine kicking in, I turn on the radio, ready to sing along to whatever song would commence. I press my foot on the pedal of the car I got for my birthday which seems a long while ago now, and drive over to the school I presume every student dreads to return to this particular day.
