Chapter 9: The Sands of Yold

When they arrived in the dessert, Tippi asked "Didn't Old Man Watchitt say something about there being some ruins around here?" Mario nodded, answering Tippi's question "Yeah he did" "The Pure Heart can't be far now... We better not waste any time.." Tipppi the replied. They went on and encountered 4 Squiglets and 1 Squig. Mario defeated them all while dodging the rocks that are being shot by the Squig. When Mario defeated all, he went on and found 4 "?" blocks. The first three had coins while the last one had a Speed Flower.

Description: This is a Speed Flower! It temporarily speeds up time. While its active, you can earn triple the coins you can get.

And so Mario became super quick and he wiped out all the enemies in just a snap. He then found 2 more "?" blocks. One had a Zombie Shroom which is an enemy and the other had a coin in it. 

He defeated the shroom and flipped to find a Squig card. He went forward and found another unknown enemy. "Hey Tippi, what's that?" Mario asked. "That's a Boom Boxer. It can shoot out painful sound waves through its speakers" Tippi answered. Mario defeated it and found something really odd. He found a Red Palm Tree at the middle of the dessert. Mario thinks it must be something important and he will try to remember this place. Then he found a dinosaur-looking statue and it said "If it's the real hero that's reading this, then flip to find your way to the Pure Heart" Mario flipped and he saw a hidden writing on the side of it. "Thou shalt bow down three times on blue platform. That is the way." Mario went on further and found a sign. It said "pmuj net semit rednu eht der eert" Mario knew what it said. "What does this even mean?" Tippi asked. "It says 'Jump ten times under the red tree'" Mario answered and remembered the red tree he saw a while ago. He hurried to it and found a door. He entered it to see the next door ahead. Then suddenly, a voice cried out "Grah-Googly! So yer the lad sstickin' his 'starchy in me boss's business!" Mario looked everywhere but he could not find where the voice was coming from. Then, a big man came out of nowhere.

Then, he suddenly blocked the next door so that Mario could not get through. Then he was laughing evilly. "Yeh shouldn't 'ave crossed the count! Now I'm gonna 'ave teh get chunky on yeh!" he said while laughing. "You... You're one of Count Bleck's thugs, aren't you?!"Tippi asked.  Then the man did a pose just like on the picture. "O'Chunks is me name! An' I'm no common thug, lass. I thug for the count o' counts, Count Bleck hisself! One word from me Blecky-Boy, an' I come teh make yeh feel some hammage!"  Then Mario asked "What do you mean by 'hammage'?" "Hammage? Ehh... Make that 'Damage'!" He replied. Then he thought of something that made him say the wrong thing. Then he raged. "Whatever, then! Not that it matters a pinch o' stew in a sandstorm. Yer a goner!" Then Tippi asked "Do you even know what Count Bleck is trying to do...?" "DEH! Me boys usin' powers an' whatnot the bring back some order teh this 'ere world! An enemy o' Bleck be an enemy o' mine! They all get chunked!" Then Tippi whispered to Mario "This O'Chunks is a lot scarier than the other enemies we've faced so far... Maybe you should use my powers to investigate him when we start the battle..." "Enough is enough already! It's time teh thunder down from on high an' deliver a beatin' o' the ages. CHUNK ON IT!" he said as he tried to jump on Mario and that's when the battle began...

The battle started when O'Chunks tried to stomp on Mario. Mario dodged it and used Tippi's power. Tippi said "That's O'Chunks. He's a big, bearded warrior of a man... Max HP is 20 and attack is 1. He can grab you by the feet and hurl you... If you're in reach, he'll throw you, so keep your distance... But you can turn the table on him and and use Thoreu to send him flying..." So Mario used the pixel's power and he was able to grab O'Cunks and hurl him. When he reached the ground, he was a little hurt and mourned a bit, this was an opportunity for Mario and he stomped on him on he head. Next when O'Chunks came to his senses, he began to try and reach Mario. Mario tried to stomp on him again but this time he grabbed him by the feet and threw him around. While Mario was trying to get back on his feet, O'CHunks did a post like he did earlier. Then Mario used one of his items which is the Shell Shock. He kicked it and was able to defeat O'Chunks with it. O'Chunks went on his knees and said "I'M CHUNKED! Me Chunks... yeh failed me! I got pummeled an yeh barely sweat yer brow. 'Ey... What kind o' strange li'l man are yeh?" "This 'strange li'l man' is none other than... the legendary hero, Mario!" Tippi answered. "Maria, 'ey? Tis an odd name, yeh, but yeh can bet yer bebby I'll remember hat!" O'CHunks replied. Mario shook his head and TIppi said "His name is not 'Maria'... It's 'Mario'!" Tippi tried correcting him. THen O'Chunks got u and got angry that he stomped the floor and said "Yeh remember this, Maria! If yeh didn't look like such a wee toddler, I wouldn't 'ave taken it so easy on yeh! But 'ey, I have teh give it up fer yer effort, so let's call it a tie. Yeh better get some chunks o' yer own for next time, though, 'ey! And while yer at it, why don't yeh wax that bonny 'stache o' yours, Maria!'Till we meet again, 'ey. CHUNKS AWAY!" Then he launched a fart jetpack and was not at sight now. "Did you understand a word of what that goon was saying...?" "Nope" Mario replied. They weaned found another statue and it said "Thou shalt bow down three times on Blue Platform, that is the way" Mario easily remembers this and went on further and found a door. He went on and found an old-looking ruin but the entrance was blocked by a statue. Then he saw a Blue Platform and remembered the scripture. He bowed down three times and the statue moved to reveal the entrance to the ruin and the team went on to find the Pure Heart which is near but they must prepare for something big is waiting for them...
