Left To Recover

I was so thankful that it was the weekend. I honestly don't know what i would have done if i had to go to school in the condition i was in. When i woke up my whole body was sore and in pain. Moving any part of me hurt like fire, but I still managed to get up out of bed.

On my door i saw a note from my dad that told me he was gonna be at a meeting for work all day.

He worked at a programming company that was partnered with the military. So my dad would help design things for military use. I was happy that he was gone today, because if he took one look at me, I would be in immediate parent interrogation. Or as I like to call it, IPI.

I walked into my bathroom and was frightened by my reflection. My hair was every which way, and my face looked like it had hit the ground too many times.

There was a big bruise on my right eye, my lip was cut, and my nose was probably broken.

The rest of my looked normal until i pulled my shirt up. My ribs looked disgusting because of how bruised they were. Purple, green, and yellow colored my side, and it hurt as much as it looked.

I took a few painkillers which would hopefully help me out with the pain. There weren't many cuts, but the ones i had were already taken care of by Star. She intrigued me. I felt bad because I hadn't remembered her at all, but maybe that was because she always hid from attention.

I didn't know what I was gonna do that day, because there was no way i was going out like this, but i had nothing to do here. I went to my desk which had my laptop on it, and turned it on. I didn't go on it that much other than to do homework on it, or look up things for skateboarding. But I was bored, and curious.

I looked up Star, but since i didn't know her last name it made it really difficult. I started thinking, and then saw my yearbook on a bookshelf. The tall shelf was filled with all the books i owned, and i could see the yearbook stick out just a little.

I flipped to the pages that had all the faces and names on it until i saw a familiar face.

StarReynolds. I typed her full name in and got a few results, but they were all about other people. I looked on Facebook, but she didn't have one. I just gave up, and texted her back.

Me: Hey what's up

It took her a while to reply, and since I was impatient I tapped my finger on the desk nervously. I don't know why I was nervous, maybe because I didn't really know her.

My phone vibrated and I saw her name on the screen.

Her: Hi, I just woke up.

Me: Oh sorry, I hope I didn't wake you up.

Her: No you didn't, it's ok you don't have to say sorry lol

Me: Ok, so how did you get my number in the first place?

Her: Oh, um I didn't mean to be creepy, I took it off your phone.

Me: Well it's a little creepy, but I really don't care. Thanks for saving my ass by the way

Her: I just didn't want you to get in trouble, and those guys really hurt you.

I didn't really know how to reply to that, so I just said I had to go and I would talk later.

I called Kyle, but he must have been asleep like usual. That kid could sleep for day. I didn't really know what else to do, so I went back on the computer.

I liked to read and write, but I never knew what to read, or what to write. I opened up a word document and began to just write. I didn't really have a plan about what I was writing, I just let words flow out of my brain. After writing for an hour my phone rang and I saw that it was Kyle

"Hey Kyle, what's up" I answered the phone with.

"You did call right? What did you want?" He asked

"I wanted to see if you could come over"

I could hear him shouting to his mom asking if he could come over. I laughed a little cause he was so obnoxious sometimes.

"I can. I'll be over in a few minutes bro, see yah." He said and then hung up.

I swear, that kid was so random. I only had to wait five minutes until I heard my door open, and footsteps coming up the stairs. We both just walked into each others houses because that's how close we were.

"What ran you over?" He said in a sarcastic voice.

"Very funny Kyle, nothing ran me over. Unless you count Issac and Tanner as bulldozers." I replied

"Well seeing what they did to you, it sure seems like those guys are huge trucks." He said to me.Will you quite staring at me like I'm a zombie." I told him after I saw the weird look he was giving me.

"Yeah yeah, do you want to play Xbox or just hang out?" He asked.

I replied by grabbing my controllers and turning on the TV. So that's basically what we ended up doing for most of the day. We were just being lazy and that was fine with me. At around 4 p.m. my dad texted me and said he had to stay the night at a hotel. I didn't really ask why and I didn't care, you could call me a bad son.

I just needed this day to recover from that beating. And it helped to have Kyle there with me.

Sorry for the short update guys, I've been struggling with writers block and all that fun stuff. Next update will be nice and long just to make up for this one. I'll try to upload more often, but until then, see ya later.
