A hunting formation is called a byrrgis. There are several ranks assigned to wolves during one, and there are some rules to follow called the byrrnock code.
Captain
A captain is the leader of the byrrgis. They organize who shall fill out which ranks and often are glorified line wolves, taking place in front of the formation and sending around the first signals.
Outflankers
Outflankers are often she-wolves who run ahead of the formation and tire the herd. They also moderate the speed of the byrrgis.
