"I was trying to be sweet, little girl, but I guess you don't want sweet," he said moving closer towards me making me close my eyes helplessly.

Suddenly, he was pulled away from me, and my hands were free of his grasp. I snapped my eyes open to find Aaron holding the guy by the neck.

He started getting paler and paler, but Aaron was too lost in his world. I kept calling his name, but he didn't even acknowledge my presence.

"I said she is my friend. Didn't I? How dare you fucking touch her? Now touch her bastard. Let me see how strong you are," Aaron spat.

"Aaron, please stop. He is getting pale Aaron. He will die. Please let him go," I pleaded to no avail. His eyes were burning with fury and hatred.

Having no idea how to stop it from spiraling further down, I went along with my instincts. I moved in front of Aaron and held his face in my hands and urged him to look at me.

As soon as his eyes met mine, the craziness in them started clearing, and they got more focused. He released his hold on the guy's throat making him drop down in heap panting and gasping for air.

"Thea, baby... Are you ok?"He asked bending down to my level and cupping my cheeks. I simply nodded my head since I was beyond the point of forming coherent statement. He held my gaze for a moment as if he was searching for assurance, and finally he let go of me.

"Look at either of them again, you won't get this lucky then," he warned the guys in a tone which held no place for arguments.

"Let's go," he nodded at Ray. Taking my hand in his, he guided us towards the exit. Our ride to home was filled with silence and unanswered questions lingering in the background.

On reaching my home, Aaron stopped looking at me with a question in his eyes.

"Kay isn't home. She went for a business meeting. She won't come back tonight," I answered his unasked question and moved towards the door to open it and let the guys in.

Once inside the living room, I did the basic first-aid without a single word being exchanged. My mind was jumbled with thoughts, and I need to process them before I could voice them out.

I left them there and went to my room needing a little space from everyone and everything. Locking myself inside the bedroom, I mentally revisited every incident that occurred tonight.

The anger in Aaron's eyes, the pain his words caused, his fight and the blood, the lust in eyes of those guys... everything came back at once, flooding my mind with unwanted emotions.

A tear made its way out of my eyes followed by another. Soon they turned into small sobs, and before I knew, I was sobbing uncontrollably.

Lying down on my bed, I curled myself into fetal position and cried for everything I went through tonight and every wrong decision I made.

I shouldn't have gone there in the first place. Aaron warned me, but I didn't pay any regards to his words. I shouldn't have acted like a child and caught attention of all those people after the fight, but my emotions won over my reason.

A small knock on my door brought me out of myself pity bubble. I tried to speak, but my voice was trembling too much to form a proper statement.

"I ll be there down in a minute. Dinner is in the microwave, get the table ready please," I said, swallowing a few times before letting the words out.

"Thea, open the door. We need to talk,"Aaron said.

"No Aaron. We don't. Leave me alone for awhile... will you?" Talking to him was the last thing I wanted to do tonight.
