Chapter 12.

*Kaelyn's POV*

I walk through the back door of the school with Jack to my right.

"There's Abby!" I point through the door at the other end of the hallway, seeing the blonde haired girl through the glass.

We walk through the door as I approach Abby.

"Hey!" She smiles and hugs me.

"Hey!" I reply.

"Hey Jack." She smirks.

"Hey Abby. How's Payte?" He chuckles causing her face to go red.

"Fine." She looks away.

"Hey who's that?" I pay my attention to a person who looks new.

"Oh that's the new-newest kid." She corrects herself.

"Oh." I say.

"Why are you so fascinated with him?" I hear Jacks faint mumble still on my right.

"Jack chill, he just looked new babe." I peck his nose, regaining his smile.

He looks so cute in the morning with his sleepy face and his messy words.

"Okaayyy.." He giggles.

"You're a loser." I laugh.

"Takes a loser to know a loser." He remarks.

I don't say anything but kiss him instead.

I feel his fingers intertwine with mine making me smile.

"You guys are so cute! I wish I had a boyfriend." She uneasily smiles.

"Go talk to Payte! Or maybe Jack can for you." I laugh.

"Haha funny. Besides he probably doesn't like me."

"He actually has a huge crush on you." Jack chuckles.

"Really?" She asks.

"Yeah, go talk to him." He says as the bell rings.

We start to walk through the door we came through and turn left down the hallway.

As we reach my locker, Jack kisses my cheek and walks down to his.

"I'll be right back." He says.

I put my backpack on the hook and grab out my science folder and book and stick my pencil in my pocket.

Once I look up, Jack is back with the same materials as me, minus the book.

"Here." He smiles and hands me a piece of gum.

"Thanks. Where's your book?" I ask.

"Oh I don't know." He shrugs.

"Nice. Use mine." I say as he grabs my hand.

We walk to Abby's locker to get her because we always walk back and forth down the hall every time before class starts.

"So what was the homework last night?" Abby asks.

"Umm I believe it was the science worksheet with the genetics or whatever." I say trying to think back to the homework, which I always finish in school.

"Ok thanks and I think I finished that."

The bell rings as the three of us walk into science.

I sit down in my seat, Jack next to me and Abby all the way across the room.

"Did everyone do their homework?" Mr.Louis asks.

He gained a couple yes's and a couple no's from the class.

"Well if you did, turn it in up here on the black tray." He instructs.

I grab my paper to go turn it in as Jack grabs my hand.

"I'll take it up." He smiles grabbing my paper.

"Thanks." I smile back as he walks up and turns in my paper.

Class went by really fast today. When I look up at the clock it says 9:00.

The bell rings excusing us, as we walk out of the class with Abby.

The day goes on pretty fast and it's the best time of the day;

lunch.

After leaving my locker to get my lunch bag, I walk into the cafeteria, seeing Jack and Abby and a couple of Jack's friends, including Payte, sitting at our table.

I go to make my way over there as I run into someone.

"Sorry." They mumble, grabbing their bottle of water off the floor.

It was the new kid.

"You're ok." I say.

"H-hi I'm A-Alex." He stutters.

"I'm Kaelyn, so you're new?" I ask.

"Yeah." He looks down.

"Have you made any friends?"

"Oh um no." He doesn't move his gaze from the ugly ivory tiled flooring.

"Want to sit with my friends and I?" I ask.

"That would be great! Thanks." He smiles as we walk towards our lunch table.

As we approach, Jack gives me a stern look.

"What?" I ask sitting down, Alex across from me.

"Who's that?" He asks.

"That's the new kid Alex." I say.

He rolls his eyes.

"Don't be a dick." I say as I take a bite from my ham and cheese sandwich.

"I'm not." He says.

"Don't make me believe that." I swallow the food.

"I'm sorry." He kisses my cheek after a moment of silence.

"It's ok." I laugh.

"Guess I am a dick." He chuckles as we eat our lunch and reminisce with Alex.

He's been looking at me;

just me, and I think Jack may be mad.
