chapter one- good news

It was a hot day in Berkeley , me and my twin sister Amber were returning from school we were accompanied by my best friend Alice.

As we entered,
"Good news kids" my mom paused for a second and continued "we are shifting to the near by town Gualala".

I was excited as well as kind off upset, I wonder if my sis felt the same.

We knew before that we are shifting as dad's transfer letter had come last week addressing that he will be transferred to another town, but it was never mentioned when and were.

I did not get sleep that night I was wondering of the new house , new school and whether I will get a good friend like Alice. It bothered me a lot

At breakfast, I didn't talk much. Dad was telling how beautiful was the house and also that he got us admission in the new school.
My mom was not in a very good mood she was quite and dull, she looked restless, usually she used to be quite brisk and loquacious.
Even the most annoying sister also didn't utter a word. It was only my father who was bragging about the shift.
