"Alright." Christopher said, "Now how are we to bring these people here?"

"Give me a minute." Violet responded, "I need to check something."

"What now?" Jackson challenged.

Violet didn't answer, she simply walked out of the storage closet and toward the exit. There hadn't been that many titan rumbles, but that didn't mean anything. I tried to stop her.

"Violet." I called, "Can we talk about this?"

"Just wait one minute." She replied, "I'll be right back."

"Come on," I said, then I saw where she was going, "No way!"

"Don't worry Alex," Daniel jested, "I'm sure she knows what she's doing."

"Thank you for your unwavering support you lousy schlemiel." She had accented the last word with extra sarcasm.

There just wasn't any stopping her. She preceded to open the loading dock door, but there was something about the way she had opened it. Not like she could live forever, much more cautious than that. So I felt certain that she did have a grasp on how truly dangerous this whole situation was. I could relax, at least a little, by knowing this. When she shut the door, her expression couldn't be more undefined.

"It's officially night now." Violet pronounced, " And it's about seven-thirty, so the night is young."

"Yeah," Mason muttered, "plenty of time to get killed."

"Ha ha ha," I started sarcastically, "No."

That seemed to be the general consensus. So whatever information Violet had needed, I guess she found it. Christopher however, didn't want to wait around, so he voiced his opinion.

"I don't know about you people," He began, " but I for one refuse to stay here until the end of time. I'm out."

Christopher started walking off. The others; Chase, Daniel, Mason, and Jackson were thinking it over. The end result was less than favorable. Everyone had left. Well, except Violet. Just great, once again the group was disbanded, only now it was worse!

"I could track them down." Violet commented, "Convince them to stay."

"How?" I questioned, "You're the one they don't trust."

"Touche." She began, "But we both know that in a time of crisis, everyone is a potential friend or foe, so their reactions are natural."

"You're not making any sense." I reprimanded.

"Think for a minute." Violet insisted, "How are they known to act, and how have they changed?"

"That's not the issue at hand!" I shouted, "It doesn't matter how they use to act, not in the slightest!"

"Yes it does, you're just too blind to the truth to see it." She scolded.

"Then help me to see it!" I yelled.

"That is so much easier said than done." Violet admitted, "Because I hardly know anything about them."

I was at a loss of words, how could I have missed such a crucial detail! That at least gave the reason for the group not to trust each other. So why did Violet insist on behavior prior to the incident?

"What does the past have to do with this?" I asked, "Can you explain that?"

"Not really." She mumbled, "But I can try."

"So try." I said urging her as quickly as possible.

"People change in a time of crisis," Violet explained, "Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. When it's over, most go back to normal, but even if only for a moment, they changed, became someone else. They actually showed who they really are."
