Prologue

"Oh my god Serena!" Dylan screeches, twirling me around with a smile plastered on her face. "You look gorgeous!"

"Agreed!" Piper beams along with Dylan.

I grin at myself in the mirror. The brief, blue dress holds itself up on my body, not needing straps. The upper half of the dress has gems placed all over it, while the bottom half puffs out into a cupcake type of style, the ruff material rubbing against my hands as I run my fingers up and down my sides.

The heels that Dylan had picked out are beige. They have a soft curve at the end instead of the pointed tip. And honestly, they are doing my legs a whole lot of justice with their six inch heels.

So all in all, I'm absolutely loving this outfit.

"What the fuck are we even doing here?" Connor, my boyfriend, steps into the common dressing room area.

I turn to glare at him. "Connor, I told you that we are here to pick out my prom dress."

He groans, sinking into the closest chair to him. "You're already picking that out? It's like three months away," he groans.

I shrug, turning my attention back to the mirror, and begin checking every angle to see if it does well with keeping my figure looking slim. "Yeah, but by then all of the good dresses will be gone."

Connor falls back onto the one seated couch he is in and groans loudly.

"Let's get this one," I tell Dylan and Piper. "This can be one of the options."

Lately, I have been on the search for a prom dress. I generally buy at least one dress from each store, and I put it in a special part of my closet at home. When prom gets closer, the three of us, Dylan, Piper, and I, will begin eliminating some and eventually end up with one dress - the perfect dress.

"I'm definitely keeping these heels though," I grin at my best friends, slipping off the flattering shoes.

Dylan and Piper high five each other. I roll my eyes at their childish behavior, walking back to the dressing room so I can change out of the dress.

"You know, you can change right here," Connor says smugly. "Or I could just come in there with you." He automatically sits up and rushes to my side.

I walk inside the dressing room as Connor leans against the side of the door. "You wish," I shove at his chest playfully, causing him to fake hurt.

"You don't want me? That hurts," he places a hand over his heart and shakes his head, faking a sniff.

I giggle and turn him around and push him out of the dressing room. "Get out and let me change, would ya?"

As Connor walks away, he shoots me one of his panty dropping smiles that have apparently worked on girls in the past. Not for me yet though. We're working on it, although he really is pushing me somewhat.

After about five minutes, I appear out of the dressing room with the blue dress draped over my arm, my purse in the crack where my forearm meets my upper arm, and the beige heels hanging from my fingertips.

We buy the items, and make our way out of the store.

"So, want to drop by a quick drive through and get something to eat before we head back to school?" Connor questions, as we place everything in the trunk of his car. "McDonalds maybe?"

In all honesty, my stomach could use a good cheeseburger and some of the world's best fries, but I know that this isn't the right group to eat all of that junk food with. I don't know why, but I feel if I bring myself down to it, they'll judge me. I know I shouldn't think like that, I mean they're my best friends right? Well, the one I'm most worried about is Connor. I feel that if I gain any weight, he'll dump me. He always compliments my figure, and I fear that if it changes, I'll be kicked to the curb, and Serena Dawson doesn't get kicked to the curb. That wouldn't be good for my reputation.
