"Hey! Slow down Cam! I only have one working leg!" I said jokingly, trying to catch up to him. I was back at school, a week after the accident, and Cameron was like my guardian angel. He was protecting me from jerks and helping me carry my books.

"Sorry! Come here, I have to show you something!" He gestured me to come over to his locker.

"What? We are gonna be late! This better be quick!" I did my best to walk over to his locker. He opened it and took out a little wrapped box. It was wrapped in a beautiful purple paper with a gold ribbon wrapped around the box to match.

"Here, I got this for you. You keep it with you and I will always be in your heart everywhere you go." I opened it and inside was a silver necklace. To be more specific, it was a silver, heart locket with my birthstone on it. Sapphire. And it had Cameron's birthstone, which was Emerald. It was beautiful. I opened it and looked inside. There were two pictures. One of them was of herself, the day she wore her deep purple dress and her hair light brown down. The other picture was of Cameron. He looked so adorable in the picture. His freckles seemed to shine and his eyes sparkle.  "I got you this so I could get the chance to ask you something..."

"What do you want to ask me Cam?" I said as I picked up my hair so he could put my necklace on me.

"Well... um... Will you be my girlfriend?" He said, gently grabbing my

hand and holding it. His head was slightly hung but he was still looking at me with his big brown eyes. He was smiling and blushing like crazy.

"Oh Cameron Boyce! Yes! Yes, I will be your girlfriend!" I said, looking back at him. He grabbed me and hugged me close. Closest than ever before. I felt safe and happy with him. I closed my eyes to take in the happiness, but when I opened my eyes, I got tense. It was the ghost teenager from the park.

"Sarah, are you okay?" Cam asked as he pulled away, a concerned look on his face. I was still looking at the girl. He turned around but saw nothing, then looked back at me. The girl slid her finger across her neck and mouthed "You're dead" then dissolved again. "What's wrong Sarah?"

         "Nothing, I'm fine" I lied.

"Okay. Well, let's go to our next class before we get in trouble." He gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before helping me to our next class while holding my hand.

                                                                                     ..................................................................................

After school we headed to his place to study for our science test. We were in the elevator when Cameron said "So, you REALLY think you saw a ghost teenage girl?"

         I said "Yes. I swear I saw her! If I didn't, I wouldn't have a broken knee!"

"Well, what did she look like?"

"She had long, straight blonde hair and goldish-green eyes."

Cameron got a little nervous and said "Uh-huh..."

"Her hair was parted to the right and she had mascara and bright red lipstick on."

Then he got wide-eyed and asked "Okay... What was she wearing?" getting a little concerned.

I said "She was wearing a black tank top that said "New York city girl" on it in white letters and faded, ripped blue jeans."

His jaw had dropped open and he was just staring straight in front of him. He looked like his favorite soccer team just missed a goal. "Are you alright?" I asked, snapping my fingers in front of his face.

He snapped out of it and said "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little surprised." The elevator door opened and we walked into his penthouse suite. It was humongous. There was a kitchen to the right after you walked through saloon doors, there were three couches and four coffee tables in front of the elevator for a lounge area, and around the corner to the right, was a mini movie theater! Next to the lounge area, was a balcony with two porch seats and a table. We decided to do our studying outside on the balcony. I sat down on the chair and looked out at the view. It was amazing. You would see the park across the street. There were kids playing, laughing, and running around.

I looked down at the street and there was the girl. Right in the middle of the lane going north. She looked up at me and I jumped in my seat. Then a red Mustang with two black stripes down the middle drove by in front of her and she was gone. I started to shake.  "You alright?" Cam asked.

         "Yeah, I'm fine." I lied.

"How about I go get us some drinks. Coke sound okay?"

         "I don't drink soda Cam."

"Oh yeah... How about apple cider?"

"Sure. Thanks." Then he left to the kitchen to get the drinks. I got up and walked over to the ledge of the balcony to get a better look at the view... and for some reason, I looked down. Big mistake. I felt the world spinning and I got dizzy. I started to wobble. So I turned around and had my back up against the railing, both hands on the bars that kept the rails in place. I closed my eyes. My stomach settled. Then, I opened them again. And there she was right in front of me. The girl. She had this murderous smile on her face.

She said "Time for a makeover." and pushed me.
